Music behind my head?

Sorry for the "goofy" question, but I was just listening to a remastered FLAC (192kHz - 24 bit) of Closer To Home (I'm Your Captain) by Grand Funk Railroad, and a significant portion of the music sounds like it is located behind my head. It's not subtle and it's every time I listen.
I'm not using any weird processing, just a fairly basic 2-channel setup: Pachanko Mini SE server with Stellar PS via Audioquest Diamond USB into Denafrips Terminator, out to Modwright KWH 225i via Hapa Audio Ember interconnects, to custom 2-way towers with ScanSpeak and Morel drivers by way of Hapa Audio Torsion cables.
My speakers have narrow baffles and image extremely well, but this particular track places me in the center of a 360-degree sound field more than anything I've ever heard before.
So what causes that?
Thanks.

I have heard at a friend, who is a hifi dealer, something similar. He had setup an „impossible“ system in a listening room at home. Two huge electrostatic speakers and 3 bass horns from Avantgarde Acoustics. If you sat at a precise spot, you would hear on some tracks music as if was coming from behind. Unfortunately that sweet spot for your head was only 20 cm wide.

But the acoustic effect was flummoxing!
