Taiko Audio XDMS - Extreme Direct Music Server Software

Thanks, Ed, for the NSM installation! After 2 nights of listening, I have no doubt that it is indeed a very big uptick over XDMS Classic. The uptick is similar to what I got from the Switch + network card over the Extreme with its stock ethernet port. Without having used them the stock Extreme...

Wolf von Langa (WVL) Chicago Speakers - Dream Speakers

Kevn, thanks for your detailed comparison of Son and Chicago. To this day I have not heard any other WVL speakers. I got Chicago (with easy access to the speakers' stock cables and crossover boards) for the additional reasons that you can place the crossover boards externally (to free them of...

    Sablon Evo usb cable

I want to express my special thanks to Mark Coles of Sablon Audio. I use his EVO USB cable to connect Taiko Extreme and Lampizator Horizon. It is the best USB cable I have ever owned and used. Mark cares deeply about his customers and often shares his experience and wisdom about the audiophile...

Wolf von Langa (WVL) Chicago Speakers - Dream Speakers

Want to correct your statement that Berlin is WVL's "flagship" speaker. WVL has emphasized that there is no correlation between pricing and sound quality among the 3 models of the Audio Frame series. Pricing in the Audio Frame series only reflects the cost of manufacturing. People have different...

Wolf von Langa (WVL) Chicago Speakers - Dream Speakers

I recent acquired a pair of Wolf von Langa (WVL) Chicago speakers. Without having auditioned them or any other WVL speakers. Purely based on gut feelings that they would be special. Special because of the presence of two features: (1) open-baffle and (2) field coil. The bet has turned out...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Absolutely. Classical music is full of gapless movement transitions - unless you want to have 1 track only for Beethoven's String Quartet #14 in C? minor - 7 movements played without a break (about 40 minutes). A hiccup, no matter how brief, would destroy the magic.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Good to know. True gapless (not even a fraction of a second). Thanks

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

@Christiaan Punter - It is critical to an exclusive classical music like me for XDMS to have 2 critical features: (1) gapless playing (disastrous to have a hiccup, no matter how brief, between nonstop movement progression, e.g., the magical transition from the 3rd movement to the 4th movement...

    Sablon Evo usb cable

I compared Sablon EVO I have just compared Sablon EVO with FTA Sinope. The first night when the Evo was brand new, not broken in. Even so, there was no match. Evo was noticeably better, more transparent, more vivid, more extended and airier. Sinope is very smooth and excellent, but Evo has the...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Hi David, we are all waiting to hear from Lukasz to be definitive. Thanks for your comment. @Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus. I was told by a digital expert that some DAC chips invert the absolute phase of output from that of input and a purist (minimalist) approach is to keep the inverted state...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Hello, thanks for your feedback. I still hope that Lukasz will provide a definitive answer to this question: "If we compare the absolute phase of the input signal to the output signal, will the Horizon DAC preserve the absolute phase of the original signal or will it invert (shift by 180...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

@Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus Could you please inform whether the absolute phase of the Horizon's output is in phase or out of phase with the input. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

@Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus To your credit, your DAC chip management is done so well that even the non-native PCM files sound wonderful processed by a Delta Sigma chip (based on my Pacific experience); I am not hearing clear DSD SQ superiority (the same thing cannot be said of my ladder DACS...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

This is helpful. @Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus - hope you install a phase switch for my Horizon (ordered) without compromising SQ. The power cables I use (as well as all other cables) are directional - see Power Cables & Strips (omegamikro.com) - for each component I have, I tried both versions...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

@Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus Questions regarding Horizon: (1) why does the DAC not include a phase switch? Some recordings were recorded out of phase, so a phase switch would be very helpful to correct the phase errors of such recordings. (2) I was told that Horizon uses a ?? chip, which means...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

I want to shout out for Fred Ainsley, Lampizator Distributor for NA. He is the best, helping me secure a great trade-in for the Horizon. He is also ever ready to share his experience and help in other ways. I am dealing with the best. I am eagerly awaiting my Mouse Grey Horizon. Thank you, Fred!
