DJ Python. Angel. Maybe the best electronica track *ever*. Yes, it is that good

As an AE/Pandora owner with eyes on an M3, I can’t wait to follow your journey!!!

    TAS Gryphon Antileon EVO review

What an amazing review. Appreciate my bias as an AE owner (and lover) but it perfectly described what I think about it

    gryphon .vs. luxman .vs. pilium

What a fantastic shortlist. I have not heard the others so can’t comment other than to say the Antileon EVO is amazing. I would guess that it will be better than the Essence monos. But I don’t know. One thing about the AE - it is very warm and rich, and IMO doesn’t play hard rock/grunge as...

Rshad0000, where did you get to on this?

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Thanks for your thoughts, Philip. I think the Pandora + AE combination is wonderful. I also like the transparency, coherence and detail retrieval of the Magicos. Allows the richness and musicality of the Gryphon combo to really come through. The Pantheons are on my list too. A long term...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Philip - I have Pandora and Antileon Evo. Am now starting to think about an upgrade from Magico S3 Mk2s.

Am now considering a speaker upgrade. what would you suggest?

    Boulder 2060 vs Gryphon Mephisto

I have not listened to Boulder nor the Mephisto, but can I suggest you try the Antileon EVO? Not sure what your price point is and of course the Mephisto will beat the AE, but it might be worthwhile to try it out. I absolutely love mine. I would love a Mephisto but I ruled it out partly...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Congratulations! I love my Antileon Evo, although I have not listened to the Colosseum or the Mephisto. I especially love the detail, richness and the huge soundstage it presents. It drives my Magic S3 mk2s with little effort and I can only imagine what a speaker upgrade will do.

Congrats! And thank you for your very interesting initial impressions. It seems like it is an absolute winner.

MSB Renderer v2 in the house!

No idea if the mk3 is a material improvement or not, nor the price upgrade. I decided to commit blind. I have a mk2 on loan until my mk3 arrives.

MSB Renderer v2 in the house!

The manuals are very poor. Unbefitting of them TBH. That said, they are still developing the renderer v2 manual. Still kinks to iron out apparently. Try to get your MSB dealer to connect you to MSB (Jonathan Gullman) directly. He was very responsive and helpful to me.

MSB Renderer v2 in the house!

A few days ago, when my replacement MSB renderer input module arrived (the one that I ordered with my MSB Premier did not work), I finally got my MSB Premier and Innuos Zenith MkII (I am waiting for mk III to arrive - hopefully later this month or October). The MSB renderer is fed directly from...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

GLWS. Someone is going to be very happy with the Colosseum. Are you going Mephisto stereo or monos? Very exciting - I can’t wait for you to buy them and then hear your thoughts.

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

How close are you to pulling the trigger on the Mephistos?

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Another update: - Still using my Lumin. Tried a firmware update to get the MSB renderer module working but no luck. - The Gryphon combo is just sounding better and better. You know that feeling you have the day after a really good live concert when you can’t get the music/feeling out of your...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

I have worked out how to get the “crunch” and “bite” sound for crunchy guitar tracks like “The Grudge” by Tool. I just need to switch the Class A bias mode on the Antileon Evo from “full” (ie 300W p/c into my 4 ohm speaker load of pure Class A) to “medium” (200W p/c Class A and remaining 100W...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Thanks for these comments. I should add that I have borrowed a cheap-ish XLR to connect the Pandora to the AE. My MIT XLR is connecting my DAC to the Pandora and is a much better cable. So I need to buy another MIT XLR. I also need to buy another AQ Tornado power cable for my DAC. Those...

I’m still trying to work it out. “Bite” might be it.

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

Anyone else out there who owns/has listened to the Antileon Evo and concluded that classical, jazz and electronica sounds extraordinarily good, but hard rock/grunge/metal sounds very good but not quite as good as the other genres? My AE has about 100 hours of burn in (courtesy of my dealer) so...

Gryphon Colosseum Stereo v Antileon Evo Stereo

I and a group of friends staying with me listened to the Antileon Evo stereo power amp and a 2nd hand Pandora preamp yesterday in my system at home. We were all completely blown away. They were all blown away by the Diablo 300 (which they heard for the first time a couple of days ago) and like...

Best Wines: Under $200, Under $100, Under $50, Under $25?

I think wine preferences open up a bigger can of worms than audio preferences. The sheer number of wines dwarfs anything audio and IMO far more subjective.

Best Wines: Under $200, Under $100, Under $50, Under $25?

LL21 - we share tastes with amps and wine! Agree with the Penfolds St Henri (under $200) and Craggy Range Le Sol (under $100). Not sure of current prices but isn’t the Penfolds RWT (my favourite bang-for-buck red wine on special occassions) under US$200? Depends on duties I guess.

    Gryphon Trident II

Thanks for that LL21. How about this for a deal: a 2nd hand Pandora preamp (apparently 2 years old and in mint condition - the seller is a customer of my Gryphon dealer) for about the same price as a new Zena preamp. Is very tempting! But I also want to give my MSB Premier a decent try...

    Gryphon Trident II

Small-Medium size. 18 feet deep and very wide from one side (opens up from the lounge/listening room to an open plan dining and 2nd lounge area). Too small for Trident IIs or M6s but probably ok for M3s. But not enough room for M3s + sub woofers. Perfect size for my S3 mk2s.

    Gryphon Trident II

Dreams are free! A speaker upgrade like that is a while away yet . I have my eyes on the M3s plus subwoofers or the Trident IIs. Am also thinking of moving apartments and a key consideration is music room size (current apartment is too small for either upgrade) so just thinking ahead.
  28. A

    Gryphon Trident II

A few questions for those who can help: - Does anybody own these? - What minimum sized room is required? - What is its nearest competitor? - Has anyone compared to Magico M3s or M6s?

    Ordered the Pantheon

Just noticed this thread. Congrats on your Pantheon purchase! Looking forward to more updates. Are you based in Singaore? (I am.) Did you buy them from Ben? How is your Diablo 300 (I have one too)? I am auditioning an Antileon Evo soon. It is actually in Ben’s store being burned in...
