Does the IsoAcoustics Gaia footers "internal rubber(?) suspension" compress over time (say, after 3 years) due to the weight of the speakers, such that the Gaia does not perform sonically at a similar level when it was new?
Thank you.
Luckily, there is that screw in finger-lift that I like on the headshell. I always have to remember to swap it when I change 4-Point headshells.
Hi,
Anybody compared the above combinations as titled?
What are your opinions on
a) their sound signature; and
b) living with them in a home environment.
Thank you.
Hi cuntigh,
Thank you very much for the explanation, I completely understood what you were describing. It was also what I suspected but I have not lived with a threadless system in everyday use, so I could only imagine. :)
My way of interpretation would be that the thread creates a consistent...
Is your current KM the REDUX threadless version?
May I know why the threaded version is preferred in your view?
The threaded nozzle is a white plastic, while the threadless looks more like a (softer) silicone nozzle to me.
(I have a 12 year old Loricraft PRC-4 that is still functioning well...
Does anybody use this older KM model launched in 2013?
Discovery One
Is this the same model as what TLi used?
It uses a modified "DJ turntable (Technics?)" and the 2 side panels protrude above the top of the machine.
It is a big machine.
Could somebody comment on its reliability, noise level...
I use my MC151 for all its functions except Idagio. I do not subscribe to Idagio.
On sound quality, ripped CDs sounds the best. In fact, I feel ripped sounds better than playing the CD itself in real-time. Streaming depends on much more variables; Wifi quality, LAN cable quality and so on. I...
Just reminded myself to update this chat, that my issue has been solved by the Burmester Team. Well done, Burmester Team!!!
I am very happy that the MC 151 plays beautifully now. :)
I have been using the CAR-40
I still have the CAR-40, but I just bought a LP-S two weeks ago. Have not mounted it yet! ;)
I would also like to try the MP-500 one day, just to get back to the MM flavor.
XL-DC has a bass weight to the music scape. It creates a foundation where the rest of the music comes on. The feeling of "solidly planted".
Stabi-M has a "lighter" sound overall. A less dense feel.
I would love to hear your experiences on cartridges for a Stabi-M and 4-Point.
I own a CAR-40 but it's getting long in the tooth. Looking for something new in 2022.
Thanks.
Hi Gadawg58
What's your view on the 523 + 534 combination?
I have no experience on ML gear before, but I got attracted to the brand.
Appreciate your experience on them. Thank you.
I had 2 sets of Gaia-II, and 2 sets of Gyrotension Vega (M-size) earlier generation, without a center spring.
Experimented them on my speakers.
I very much prefer HifiStay products, because they sound more "music(al)" to me.
Just my personal choice.
(IsoAcoustics are directional, so have to know...
I received a Burmester message on my MC151 on 4th Oct 2021, as below.
My iPad apps for BurmesterMC is already the latest at 3.3.1
In Aug'2021, while playing Tidal, songs skipped forward and backward, like a damaged vinyl.
However, now i cannot even log into Tidal with ID & PW on the BurmesterMC...
Hi Andromedaaudio,
You are the expert in identifying the speakers. ;)
Yes, they are White Flame, almost a 20 year old model.
4 mounting screws on the drivers, vs the current Accuton series of 6 mounting screws.
Should anything go wrong dismantling the drivers while cleaning it, there will not...
Hi,
I have a question regarding ceramic drivers of the early days; say about 15-20 years ago.
1) How to clean the diaphragms (grime?) with the grill on? Do I have to un-bolt and dismantle the front of the driver unit?
2) Are they cleanable and become "white" again, or is it discoloration of...
From the website... "In the Resolution, three 28mm steel threads, each tipped with a 12.5mm steel ball, meet with three 12.5mm steel balls, held captive inside the floor protector."
Yours are sharp spikes? Not the Kinematic coupling? That's strange.
