Ron Resnick Launches Audio Cafe LLC, a New Clarisys Audio Dealer

Ron, Originally, I tried the Minuet's all over the room. The present location, to me, sounds the best overall. That is, soundstage, depth and bass quality. After determining that, then I installed the Gaia Titan footers and spikes. ozzy

Ron Resnick Launches Audio Cafe LLC, a New Clarisys Audio Dealer

Ron, Curious, what do you think I would gain from bringing them out into the room further? More depth, soundstage? I ask this because to move them out more into the room would require jacking them up, removing the Gaia Titan footers and spiked feet, and then reattaching them. ozzy

Ron Resnick Launches Audio Cafe LLC, a New Clarisys Audio Dealer

Ron, I have now removed the diffusors. I think the soundstage is better with just the bare wall behind the speakers. BTW, the Minutes are about 5 feet from the front wall. I think the speakers sound best with no toe-in. But I am sitting about 12 feet back from them. ozzy

Ron Resnick Launches Audio Cafe LLC, a New Clarisys Audio Dealer

I still contend that my Minuet sounds excellent in my room, and I am very happy with their size and performance. That being said with my ISO-Acoustic Titan footers which while still using the Minutes original footers they now are about 3.5" taller. This now puts the height from floor to speaker...

Ron Resnick Launches Audio Cafe LLC, a New Clarisys Audio Dealer

Audiohertz2, I don't know what size room you consider to be small, but my room is 17 X 25 X 8 and the Minuets are perfect for this room. I play Classic Rock music at large sound levels. A bigger speaker would not only look out of place but is not necessary. ozzy

I added the Titans to the Clarisys footers which raised them about 3.5". I do think the extra height was a good thing. ozzy

Ron, Hope you remember me, I own the Clarisys Minuet speakers. Here is some information, on my experience with them. My room is 17X25X8 I moved the speakers back and forth, toe in, no toe in, wide separation, narrow. So now after about 6 months of use: 1. I now have the Minutes 5 feet from...

    Silver cable break in

Blackmorec, Nice post, thank you. Now that I think about it I too have over 50 years in this hobby. Remember Heathkits? Anyway, it is still hard to believe that within this hobby there are still those who insist break in does not occur or it is somehow our hearing that adjusts to the different...

    Silver cable break in

I just experienced cable break in again firsthand. 10 Days ago, I bought a new set of the AudioQuest Thunderbird XLR 2M interconnects. First impression, they sounded good, but then after about 30 hours of usage the music started sounding very closed in and with limited high frequencies. This...

The best plug in filter ever!

So, I have done a 180 on using the Telos with the Puron's. I am now of the belief that the Purons work better without the added Telos. It seems to be too much and actually closed in the soundstage. So, I moved my 2 Telos to my computer/streamer room and on to my home theater equipment. Only...

Critical Mass Footers under Mono Blocks?

Critical Mass Footers under Amps? I am not sure if using the Critical Mass footers 1.0 size under my mono amps is a good thing. The bass maybe seems a little less dynamic and deep, but I am not sure. Can anyone add input or share on their experience using these footers under amps? ozzy

All New Clarisys Audio Minuet Loudspeakers !

So, after living with the Clarisys Minute for a few months, I decided to try a set of the ISO Acoustics Gaia 1's underneath the Minutes. I had these installed previously under my rear subwoofers, so I decided to try them on my main speakers. It was a chore for this old man to remove the Minutes...

    Critical Mass Footers Weight Limitations?

Not much help from the Manufacturer, really vague and non-committal answer, that is why I asked the question here. I have the footers facing forward as I believe they are supposed to be. The 1" size does not seem to work well (sonically) with my 140lb amps, so I'm not sure if even the 1.5 size...

    Critical Mass Footers Weight Limitations?

PeteGO, Thanks for that info, but it really doesn't address the actual weight restrictions or limitations. What happens when I use a 1" or a 1.5" under a 140lb amps. What I am finding is the sound becomes more constricted sounding under my amps when using the 1" size. The bass seems to...

    Critical Mass Footers Weight Limitations?

Thanks for your opinion, but what are the actual weight limitations of the various sizes? I mean there are different sizes for a reason? And what happens if the weight is too much for a given size? Does the music become more constricted, tense or whatever? Will the footers squish? ozzy
