My original Baltic 3 was upgraded to engine 11. I did not trade it in for a new unit.
I sent my unit in 6 months ago for repairs and requested for an upgrade to the latest engine 11 when it was available.
Sent in my Engine 53 Baltic 3 for service a couple of months back and received my upgraded B3 with Engine 11 a week before Christmas. Definitely sounds better than the older engine 53. Go for the upgrade if you can, worth every $$.
B3 has 50 hours on it so far.
Long awaited post! Here is my B3 with Sophia Aqua 274b, RCA VT99 w Polish adaptors and stock JJ ECC802s. The VT99 changes the sound quite a bit from the stock Psvane UK6SN7. More listening to be done
I ordered the vt99 adapter from Poland 2 days ago to experiment with 6F8G/VT99 in place of the stock Psvane hifi 6sn7. What are some of the differences u heard compared to the stock tubes?
Yes with better streaming gear nowadays, the gap between CD and streaming narrows. I highly recommend JS audio repairs in the UK if you would like to improve your kW unit, had mine upgraded and it was a world of difference.
Yes, I listened to the regular Atlantic and was blown away and I can only hope for the best with the B3. The dealer's Atlantic is now playing in my system until the B3 arrives,
Placed an order for the Baltic 3 after comparing various DAC's in the market against my Bel Canto DAC3.7. Demoed various dacs like Denafrip Term+, Mola Mola Tambaqui and Chord Dave. None of them gives me the upgrade itch over the Lampizator Atlantic I tried from the local dealer.
Bought a Sophia...
