Convince me to restart my analog journey

Another option would be to find some high resolution digital rips of vinyl. They will get you in that 90% range of quality if done right. Michael Fremer has ripped vinyl for years. I've also ripped several hundred of my favorite vinyl cuts over about 10 years, and can play them from my...

Upgrading from Vitus RI-101 mkII with TAD speakers

I'm biased, but dont' rule out a DarTZeel integrated. The Phono preamp is also very good.

Ron Reporting from Southwest Audio Fest 2024

I did not this trip. I have several of her signed albums from prior shows. They are generally excellent!

Ron Reporting from Southwest Audio Fest 2024

I was there (second row, far left). Yes, an amazing presentation from Acora and Ms Bisson. The audio system was "good enough" to suspend belief for the accompaniment. Her voice became my reference for the rest of the show. Every audiophile should hear a demo like this. Highly educational.

SXSW Audio Show in Dallas TX - Who's Going?

I'll be attending along with audiophile buddies from Omaha and Scottsdale. I'm hoping to evaluate and am interested in: 1. Optical phono cartridges 2. R2R and tapes 3. 75 ohm Digital clock cables 4. Synergistic Research Streamer 5. New music 6. Clarysis speakers 7. Downtown Dallas...

New darTZeel CTH 8550 MKII owner experience

330 watts at 4 ohms is plenty of juice for Sasha DAW's! My room is roughly 18x16x9 (Length, width, height in feet). I listen in the 80-90 dB range and am probably only using a couple watts on average. The DAW has a sensitivity of 91dB/W/m at 4 ohms. That would give you at least 115 dB on...

Best amplification for Wilson Audio Sascha DAW

I envy your journey. I went on a similar quest this past year, doing demo's of integrated amps at shows, audio stores and at home. It was great fun, but also some work. Don't get hung up too much on perfection, it doesn't exist. Every device will have its pros and cons and in my opinion...

New darTZeel CTH 8550 MKII owner experience

Yes, there is something compelling about the darTZeel sound, at least for me and I think others too. I've got half a dozen local audiophile buddies, and we listen to each other systems frequently. I've quietly observed every single one of them tapping their foot in time with the music when...

New darTZeel CTH 8550 MKII owner experience

Yes, system simplification was one of my goals. However, I still seem to have too many boxes, LOL. Ultimately, however, I was looking for a more musical and emotional home experience with my audio system. Thank you for your comments.

New darTZeel CTH 8550 MKII owner experience

This past year I’ve been searching for a new integrated amplifier to replace a Devialet D-Premier (upgraded to Expert) that has been my primary amplifier for the past decade. The Devialet was a wonderful match for Harbeth speakers (C7ES3) that I previously owned, and the Phono section is really...

Nobody has mentioned Sound Anchor stands. They are wonderful with my Stirling V2 LS3/5A's. Mine are 28 inches tall.

GRYPHON UNVEILS DIABLO 333 AT TWO DEALER EVENTS

Thanks for the thumbs up. I have the DarTZeel CTH 8550 MK 2. It's difficult to comment on a direct comparison of the Gryphon vs DarTZeel as I've not had the Gryphon in my system. Generally, I would say that the Gryphon is more "weighty" on the low end a bit more forward in its presentation...

GRYPHON UNVEILS DIABLO 333 AT TWO DEALER EVENTS

I attended the first dealer demo of the new Gryphon 333 this afternoon in Omaha (The Sound Environment). The Sound Environment is a great high end store and has a large listening room that I am very familiar with. The 333 was demonstrated with Rockport Orion speakers, Brinkman Taurus table and...
