    Spectral Repair

The starter of this thread complained about the unwillingness by Spectral to help him with his powersupply because it's too old. The powersupply has no exotic parts that the main unit may probably have so they could at least offer some assistance than their blunt reaction. I once had a then 20...

    Spectral Repair

I own a Spectral SDR3000 & 2000 combo and a DMC20 pre and now I'm in a kind of struggle because I like their performance a lot but the idea that they let you down when you run in troubles makes me nervous about keeping them.

    Spectral Repair

This is insane in my opinion. These items cost a small fortune when bought new. They should be serviced a lifetime for that kind of money.

DMC 20 is still a valid choice ?

"DMC 20 is still a valid choice ?" I hope to find out this week. I have a DMC-10 (Delta) and a DMC-20 (S1) with 202 phonocard and Balanced in should be coming tomorrow. I find the DMC-10 very good in every aspect so my hopes are high for his bigger brother...

... an odyssey with spectral dmc10

Well I've a SDR-2000/3000 combination and I wouldn't call that affordable... The DMC-10 Delta (I will get soon) is affordable though but not if you have some technician put in all the effort to make it perfect like Jon Q's tour de force did with his Delta. I would be interested what you (Jon Q)...

    Spectral DMC-10 mods part 3

Thank you very much for the display of your craftsmanship and the valuable recommendations regarding upgrading the Spectral DMC-10 Alpha. I will get a Delta version soon and will compare your version with mine. I'm very keen that when the protection circuit kicks in that the apre-amp will not...

Krell KSA Amps and the Apogee Scintilla, which newer Krell models can drive a 1 ohm load?

Hi Simon, I think Christoph is right. This combination is unique, the KRS-1 true balanced version with stereo Spectrol Model 100 (the best sounding it seems) per channel so the signal trough the potmeters stays balanced. 7k for the whole lot is a bargain. I would ask at least 10k for this...

Krell KSA Amps and the Apogee Scintilla, which newer Krell models can drive a 1 ohm load?

Hi Simon, The KRS-200 & 100 do probably run equally hot but as stated their coolingcapacity is enormous especially compared with the deratives the KSA-80/200 amps that are clearly under dimensioned. The KRS-100 is the better amp of the two ergonomically (you can just handle them at your own...

Krell KSA Amps and the Apogee Scintilla, which newer Krell models can drive a 1 ohm load?

Hi Simon, I've had the KSA-100 Mk1 and Mk2 versions, KMA-100 Mk2, KMA-200 Mk2 and now the Krell KRS-100. I can't say much about the other models you've mentioned but from the KSA-250/150 series onwards none of them are real fixed bias Class A amps. Friends of mine operated KMA-160's and a...
