Any news on the Micro2. Has anybody heard these yet? I am just day dreaming here. I like my JM Labs 1027's but I am just curious about these speakers. Are they dynamic enough for HT as well as music?
I am just wondering outloud:p. I have a couch that I mainly sit on when I watch movies. I was thinking that I may like to have my legs up when I watch movies now. My local dealer has

They look nice. I need them to go close to...
I heard the Integra at someones house last Sat. It was a very impressive preamp. That may be the one for me. I will wait and see what happens after CEDIA though before I make a choice.
Does anybody have any experience at all with this peice? I have heard that Cary may not be the best line of gear because they have had quality control issues. Can anybody shed any light on their gear or general thoughts about them? The 11a pre looks like a real winner to me. Any info would...
Yep. Those Brystons can get toasty. I have a ceiling fan in my room and that helps. Plus I just got a tall standup corner fan that is really good. And now we are having an attic fan put in. Since my room is right below the attic, I am hoping that it helps some more. Great setup indeed. How...
Thanks OB. Yea. It has taken some time but doing research, talking to people like you and seeing other systems like yours has helped me along my way. It was talking to other members on AVS and Mark S that convinced me that I needed to get my old wall unit out of my room and get something more...
Thanks Audio. This does seem like a nice place to hang out. I am probably almost done. In component wise, not time wise. I have one want and one need. The need is a new HT preamp that will have the Hidef audio formats and room correction. The want is the DartZeel integrated amp. That...
Looks mighty impressive to me. Any updated pictures with the Cats? That is also a boat load of gear you have. You said that the equipment is in it's own room. Any problem with heat? In my small room my Bryston's can get like ovens in the summer time. Again, great system.
Now I would be remiss if I did not indicate that when I had that test done the room was not %100 dark or pitch black. Either way, whatever it is, the picture looks really good :). In a lit room or a pitch dark room at night time.
I made a mistake in my reporting of my contrast ratio. That's what I get for relying on my 40 year old memory:p. According to my report, the pre-calibration On\Off Contrast ratio was 7472. Now I don't know what the post ratio was but it was probably still close to that. Do those numbers...
No complaints? Now that would be a first:rolleyes:. The biggest complaint or worry was the rising black level. Panasonic implemented something in their TV's that was supposed to make them last longer. I guess they felt that they could extend the life of the TV. They messed with the voltage...
I think I have to agree that video people are more insane then audio pelople:p. My room is probably far from "ideal” it is a small second floor room with a big window and venetian blinds. I can turn the lights off obviously but it won’t get completely dark until the sun goes all the way down...
Thanks for the reply. I know that the calibrator uses top flight equipment. I think what gets people all excited is the Dynamic Contrast ratio. My TV is said to have a Dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000,000:1. But what they don't tell you is that it only is like that in Vivid mode which...
Thanks. I have the Panasonic 42G25 . I like the picture very much. My calibrator told me that my contrast ratio was 4123:1. I am assuming that is not Dynamic. For me, in my room it can render dark sceens very well. I don't know what the "dynamic" would be. I was just wondering. So, in...
I guess this question belongs here.
Is there a minimum requirement of contrast ratio? For ex what is there a minimum it can be and still display a full range of light whites to dark blacks. Is something in the 4000:1 range "good" enough if the screen is say, 42 in? But the replies to not...
One of the things I have learned about my journey through audio is that just because there may be something that sounds better out there, that does not mean that I have necessarily sounds bad.
Myles,
I really did not know much back then I took my dealer at his word when he told me outstanding the player was. Agian, I hate to be a parrot but I do like it very much. At the time I wanted a Universal player and this was the best one out there fit my budget.
Thanks for the welcome. I don't if that is the difference. I am just trying to think how it would manifest itself. I have heard much better players then mine and the music is much "smoother". I am guessing that a lower jitter may play a part in that. I have no evidence to back that up...
The Amadeus GTA is my first table so I have bought one Cart so far. I use the Dynavector DV XX2MkII. I was going to get the one bellow that but my conversations with Mike Pranka convinced me to step up to the next level. In his opinion it is a real sweet spot for that table. I also wanted to...
I have the GPA Monaco rack for my system. The Monaco holds my Amadeus GTA, my Halo C2 preamp, my Bryston 4b-ST and my Bryston 5b-ST. No extra movement at all. I have fallen in my room, bad ballance don't ask, while a records was playing and it did not skip at all.
Great topic. This is something that I have thought about a bit. My player, the Esoteric DV50s has a high jitter rate I guess. Stereophile measured 495pico secs.
This is what was said at the end of the measurments section.
"In almost all respects, and whether playing back CDs, SACDs, or...
I have had three subs in my system. My first was a Def Tech Powerfield 15. That was many moons ago. I heard in a system at a store and they played Star Trek Generations. Since I was very new to HT I was extremely impressed with how it sounded. It was affordable so I ended up buying it. The...
also, that Dynavector link is busted. Try this one http://www.dynavector.co.jp/
Or you can just link direct to the english site
