Disappointingly this thread appears to be a monologue.

What is the best speaker you have ever owned ?????

Wilson Watt Puppies... beyond a doubt the best speakers I ever owned. They're not the best I've ever heard though! That honour goes to the MBLs (however the price tag of >$125k somewhat discourages me at the moment!) These MBLs made a believer out of me for omni-directional speakers (a concept I...

Requesting Suggestions From Members Re New Dedicated Fora

No need to pollute the internet any more than it already is, or needs to be. Sure, it starts with raising the quote to 500, then 1000, thereafter 1500, and on and on it goes. Personally I think people should exercise a modicum of discretion over which PMs are important and...

Pics of most beautifull dealer set ups .

^Looks too clinical to me. But that's just me. I prefer a more domestic and homely feel. Anyway, hard surfaces, steel and glass tables don't mix well with acoustical conformance IMHO. Again, that's just me. YMMV. :-)

Only In America-Girl With 6.7 GPA Faces Deportation

I agree that the American immigration policy and the system is badly broken. Just look at the policies of several countries such as Canada, Australia and Sweden to name a few. But no, Americans must do things their way... it's led to a dysfunctional immigration policy, lousy health care system...

Great thoughts. Thanks for sharing and I commend your actions. We must all do similar... my Buddhist principles have no other way. Help all life forms. Live and let live.

Receivers: They come in all flavors and prices...

The 3009 looks interesting. Do you mean the 3009? Overkill if you only need 2 channels and no amplification, IMHO.

What are you using for Cables?

BlueJeans Canare cables. Good enough for me. I had some Transparent Audio before and honestly I can't tell the difference.

Ruining an icon: American Top Gear

Right. And can you imagine American versions of Dad's Army or Fawlty Towers? How about 'Allo 'Allo!

    Internet Radio

Has anyone tried Mog? I've heard users rave about it. The only thing is that to try their free (ad supported) service, you must login with your Facebook account. They share stuff on your Facebook account, so just to try it out, I don't want to risk that.

Ruining an icon: American Top Gear

Disclaimer: I am British. Just like other British shows that have been cloned (e.g. The Office), American Top Gear is a flop. The real reason I think is that... well...it's not British! :p That's not to say the Americans can't be funny. I loved Richard Pryor live and the Seinfeld show...

Q: How dumb have music listeners and musicians become? A: How smart have doorknobs become? :)

Karl Haas: Adventures in Good Music

Gross generalisation NorthStar! :( The "real stuff", "real Music" is different to each one of us. It's so individualistic. Basically it's whatever series of notes that sound good and pleases the listener. :)

    The Tree Of Life

I agree this movie is no Best Picture winner. I'm not sure if I would watch it again. Not saying it was 'bad' but all those flashbacks and flashaheads didn't do it for me.

    How important is the room?

 No no! Of course there's wine. Without the bottle, it's in a box or in a carafe or decanter. :p

    How important is the room?

Alan Parsons certainly agrees that the room is important and he knows of what he speaketh! :) http://www.cepro.com/story/alanparsons.html

    How important is the room?

Thank you for your comments. I fully concur. I have used several different types of room correction technologies but none have been the magic solution. In the end, I've always ended up making manual tweaks to get it as close to perfection as my ears prefer.

    How important is the room?

Forgive the newbie post. Is the 'room' becoming less significant in the overall equation due to the new fangled 'room correction systems'?
