Lampizator Baltic 4: Single-Ended or Balanced Output?

Cool! Nelson Pass is the only transistor designer that I trust implicitly. He is the epitome of a KISS designer.

Lampizator Baltic 4: Single-Ended or Balanced Output?

It is possible that the differences that you are hearing have more to do with the transformer based XLR input vs the straight RCA input.

Lampizator Baltic 4: Single-Ended or Balanced Output?

I would suggest checking the input impedances of the device that you are connecting the Baltic 4 to. If the input impedance of the inputs are different then that might account for the differences that you hear. Certainly the balanced output is preferred but the same positive XLR wire connects to...

Lampizator Baltic 4: Single-Ended or Balanced Output?

I realize that this is a very old topic, but if anyone cares, the positive XLR signal connects directly to the RCA output so essentially the sound should be the same.

    Bruce K's Minimalist System

OK, have finalized my volume control solution with just reducing the number of output tubes in my MA-1s. For the record, those of you that are not familiar with Atma-Sphere, they produce one of the best OTL tube amplifiers. These are often used with SoundLab electrostatic speakers. Atma-Sphere's...

    Bruce K's Minimalist System

OK, been an audiophile since approximately 1982 but I skipped out from 1992 through 2021. Recently, while attempting to sell all of my gear, I got bitten again. But, this time, thanks to the recent advancements in technology, I was able to build the simplest system that I have ever had. This...

    Modified Lampizator Baltic 4

I recently completed modifications to my Lampizator Baltic 4. These changes were implemented to provide a rolled off balanced signal to my tube amplifiers for highs and a full range signal to my transistor amps for my subwoofers. I accomplished this by replacing the output blocking capacitors...

    New Apogee Full Ranges

    Apogee Full range

I have new Apogee Full Ranges that I used for two months before storing them in a temperature controlled basement for 37 years. I first heard the Apogees at a meeting of the Westchester Audiophile Society and was very impressed with their sound and design. I subsequently purchased them from...

    On Cables

As one of the original participants in the infamous 1983 Stereo Review speaker wire tests I thought that I might add a few comments to this thread. I believe that I was the "golden ear" that was identified during the testing process, but I could be wrong since there was no official announcement...
