    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

Interesting that they are not using the new S3 footers. Did they mention why? Wonder if that affects the LFs

    Grimm Audio MU2 "Major Dac"

Vangelis, thanks for the information there. I upgraded from eero to orbi. Expensive but way more detailed than the eero. This feeds the SR switch which I don't need but it makes everything so much more musical... Will look into that Shakti. Keep us posted on the findings of shelving and footers...

    Grimm Audio MU2 "Major Dac"

Break-in is a really crazy roller coaster ride with this and requires patience but this unit categorically is a chameleon in that it transforms with incredible fidelity to whatever PC, IC, and vibration control it is paired with and the upside is quite astonishing if you take the effort and time...

    My CH Precision/Magico System

Ian, kudos on this amazing system. Cannot believe I hadn't seen this earlier since I've been researching Ch Precision. Have you tested the M1.1 in stereo vs mono? Wondering if I can get away with a single stereo M1.1 and what the differences are.. Thanks!

    CH M1.1 or A1.5 x 2

Sorry, S1's just don't do bass so the amp is not your issue. The recommendation above to get S3MkIIs is excellent if you like your low end. Be careful of pairing the Diablo 300 with Magico S class however as the tweeters are more extended and the Diablo can be bright with those tweeters. The...

    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

This one's easy. S3 2023>M3>M2>S3Mk2>A5>A3>A1. Jonathan Valin of TAS just reviewed it and says it's better than any Magico he's had and he's had the above M's both I believe. The new S3 is special indeed and probably the best speaker under $100k. The new model is a totally different animal so...

    Luxman new M-10X power amplifier

I had tried my Shunyata Sigma NR V2 and didn't like it so I picked up 2 of these for the twins: https://shunyata.com/products/power-cables/venom-x-series-power-cables/venom-x-ef/ Not sure I will keep them there but for now letting them settle a bit. The bad - they leaned out the bass and shrunk...

    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

New S3 was said by very respectable dealer Mke B from Suncoast to fall between the M2 and M3 sonically... I think that he is correct and it has all the good attributes but also has a bit more forgiveness of bad recordings ;^)

    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

Interesting setup. Very close together but it sounds like this works for you which is terrific. The toe in comment is interesting for sure, wondering why this would be different from previous models. Where do you aim the tweeter? I've always tried to follow the isocoles triangle with convergence...

Anyone have experience with aftermarket power cords on this amp?

    Luxman new M-10X power amplifier

Very nice layering, huge depth, another octave of bass, imaging solidity, shimmering in air quality and of course extra dynamics.

    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

Congrats, man. That's beautiful! Can you tell us about your S3 positioning and setup? The distance they are apart from each other and distance from the back wall? It sounds like you figured out placement for sure. Also how do you like the feet? They are flat and not spikes and I wonder how...

    Magico M7 2023

XV-1. Your Wilsons are not immune to the market at the top of the higher end either. Your own Wilson Maxx 3 speaker is in the same % of retail as well. $25k for a $66 speaker...

    S3 MK3 (2023) Arrived

I've owned 7 pairs of Magicos and they all take a much longer time to break in than other speakers like Wilson, etc. 150-200 minimum on the previous gen S. The new S and A midrange drivers are aluminum honeycomb so I'm not surprised by the 500 hour estimates as that material is very stiff...

    Jonathan Tinn R.I.P.

This is shocking news and very sad indeed. What a listener and great friend. He got me out of the only world I knew up until that time of sterile SS gear and into Kharma and tubes, notably the Tenor OTLs. He was a ringmaster too - I'll never forget the epic Von Schweikert and Dartzeel setup he...

    New Magico Speaker ??? 12-12-22

Once your ears are tuned in to sealed enclosure bass, most other ported designs sound totally unhinged - fat, slow, and bloated. Sealed definitely makes set up easier and is a faster, tighter low end. I cannot tell you how many hours in a listening session I've spent moving big Wilsons a...

    New Magico Speaker ??? 12-12-22

Couldn't agree with you more XV-1. I had dry tinder ready to go for these and now am repurposing those funds for upgrading my projector, better M car, home theater upgrades etc. instead. Disappointing to say the least and I've owned every single S model other than S1 in literally every...

Measuring power line capacity with the IDEAL SureTest, and the effect of Shunyata power products

Is it possible that ACKs Furutech outlets were knock-offs? These are widely known to have many distributors from C...a known to be fakes. Boy those are tough to find in skinnier sizes. What do you think of these? Would they raise the height too much? https://www.amazon.com/Isolate-Sorbothane-Vibration-Isolation-Washer/dp/B009M97ISW/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8RE9VGN2GNAEZ9R7H0WK

Yet another footer thread. Magico S7: IsoAcoustics GAIA Theis or SPods?

Just read your earlier Gaia thread and like the idea of using different washers. I was considering getting some sheets of felt and leaving them under the feet for the time being. Some come with sticky backs which would be cool but that video you linked seems to indicate that they are designed to...
