It’s not a great series but something to watch. I’ve always liked Olivia Mann after her role in Newsroom. Never cared much for Jon Hamm but that hasn’t stopped us from watching.
Finally took the opportunity last evening to set aside 3+ hours to watch the Brutalist. Fine acting all around. Not what I would call an enjoyable movie. There sure weren’t many characters you wanted to like or pull for.
We are waiting for more episodes to drop before we start watching. Mirren and Hardy are two of my favorite actors.
In the meantime we have been watching Bosch Legacy, Handmaids Tale, Ludwig, long Bright River and best of all The Pitt..
OOPs had one wrong title
I am not a fan of Jason Siegel at all but the rest of the cast is very good. We watched it over the years as it came out, then we rewatched it all again. I must say I enjoyed it much more the second around.
I believe both 1883 and 1923 were better series than Yellowstone. When Yellowstone focused on the ranch and cowboys it was fine TV. When Beth was center stage it became cartoonish at best.
Sheridan has proven he can develop great women characters such as Cara and Alex in 1923, Elsa, Margaret...
Just finished the finale of 1923. The series did not disappoint. Like 1883 many smiles and much disappointment with the fate of certain characters.
I won’t provide spoilers ‘till several days pass and those interested have the opportunity to watch.
Helen Mirren and Julia Schlaepfer stole the...
As I have indicated in the past 1923 has the potential to pass 1883 as Sheridan's best effort. I will have to wait to see these last couple of episodes to see how it ends up.
We too have really enjoyed Season 2, "but" Alexandra's version of The Odyssey is getting a bit much.
With only...
My wife started watching this a couple of weeks ago. I picked it up in the last few episodes of season one, tried to watch some of seasons two and three. I find it really dumb.
I always looked forward to the new season of Bosch and Bosch Legacy. I will be disappointed when this season finishes, yet expect some future spin offs.
Is there even a dealer in the US that carries both Wadex and dCS? I doubt there are even a handful of potential purchasers in the US that have relationships with two different local dealers to borrow these units for comparison.
Many of us have relationships that allow us to borrow anything...
Most of the British Drama's are so much better than the fare we get here in the US. We get some here on PBS, Britbox, Masterpiece etc. The acting and writing is on a completely different level. When I get time I create a list of some of the better shows. Compare a couple of episodes of Blue...
The part of Landman that really ticked me off was the casting of 27 year old Michelle Randolph (who also has a part in 1923) playing a 17 year old high school student, who runs around acting like a 30 year sleaze ball.
I would rate Sheridan's shows:
1883
Mayor of Kingston
Tulsa King
Landman...
Based on Steve’s review I decided to give Emilia Perez a go earlier today. I won’t repeat his synopsis of the film as it is spot on. I will say that is was nothing like I expected. the performances by Saldana and Gomez were top notch without overacting which is all to common with artsy type...
You will probably enjoy the twists in season 2 even more. Can’t wait for 3 especially since the second season ended a bit abruptly after just 6 episodes.
Had the opportunity to see "A Complete Unknown" yesterday afternoon. Much better than I had expected. The four main characters Chalamet as Dylan, Babaro as Baez, Norton as Pete Seger and Fanning as Dylans early girlfriend all admirally pull off their roles. Chalamet's singing was okay but...
I think that’s the end of Yellowstone but additional spin offs are quite possible.
I thought the voice over by “Elsa” at the end was the perfect wrap up for the series. A nice bookend between 1883 and Yellowstone.
As I have noted in the past I have enjoyed the series when they have focused on the ranch and life more than the killing etc. Most of last nights second to last episode was excellent.
I have found it amusing how Sheridan casts the same actors in more than one of his shows. He himself has...
Watched the first two episodes last evening and Landman definitely has the feel of other Sheridan shows such as Mayor of Kingstown and Lioness. You will recognize a couple of actors from other Sheridan series that have roles on Landman, just as we saw some end up with roles in both Yellowstone...
