    Any McIntosh Fans here ? ......

    My vintage system has a C-26 and an MC-2100 and it is still part of the component chain I prefer, though I have some newer equipment to drive larger, more difficult, less efficient speakers.

    Which SS amp has the most tube-like tone and timbre?

    I've thought some vintage solid state were designed to sound like tube so they could sell the upgrade to solid state to the existing tube crowd. So McIntosh MC-2100 and Kinergetics KBA-75 seem to fit.The latter runs as hot as tubes :-) since it is class A biased.
