My order was placed more like 12 months ago. Of course, times may improve as regular production ramps up.

darTZeel NHB-108 Model 2 - The Best Stereo Amplifier In The World Just Got Way Better!

I bought a new unit and will list my v1 for sale once the new one is here and has run reliably for a while.

darTZeel NHB-108 Model 2 - The Best Stereo Amplifier In The World Just Got Way Better!

Mine is apparently scheduled to get to Australia sometime in March... first time I’ve been excited about a system change for a while!

    New NHB 18NS

Indeed, I hadn't given much thought to the sympathetic resonances from the guitars. I didn't always have them there, but I haven't noticed any deterioration in the sound since placing them. Interestingly, they change sometimes... I'll have to keep an ear out for the effect that different ones...

    New NHB 18NS

And in the spirit of nothing being wasted, the "old" preamp is redeployed to the office.

    New NHB 18NS

Jeez... that could get dangerous. I have over 20 guitars tucked away in custom cabinets in this room. The room is fully acoustically treated as well. Currently VERY happy with the new pre. Hard to tell what it is, but I suspect the phono stage is making the biggest difference.

    New NHB 18NS

G'day bonzo The room is 9m x 6m. No bass horns unfortunately, just the matching subs. Alistair

    New NHB 18NS

Well, it's here... initial impressions are very positive. A few dodgy point and shoot camera pics (including a dirty record)! Will post more once I get some serious listening on it. A lovely bonus is that I can't wait to hear the office setup with the old Dartzeel pre in it.

Which BNC 50-ohm cable for NHB-108 and NHB-18NS interconnection

Absolutely Mike... Poor choice of language by "settled on", I've been running them for two years!

Which BNC 50-ohm cable for NHB-108 and NHB-18NS interconnection

I have also settled on the Evolution Acoustics BNC Links and think they're a very worthwhile cable upgrade. However, as said above, even the stock BNC cable from Herve is excellent and likely better than any other ICs you'll find. I preferred the to Jorma Prime.

    New NHB 18NS

My new Dart should be here in Australia soon. I currently have the latest version of the old pre. I'm particularly hoping the new batteries are much improved. On my old pre I had to change them every 12 months, even following all Herve's advice on maintenance. Not too tricky, but an...

    TechDAS Air Force 2

Is there a link to the review? I can't seem to find it. Attached are a couple of pics with my favourite tonearm to date on the AF2... the Acoustical Systems Axiom.

TechDAS Air Force III - First Sighting

What fantastic news. I love my AF2, which has gone to another level with the Axiom tonearm. Putting the AF3 at a price point to contend with much lesser tables like VPI, Basis etc... Wow... I fully expect this to win Techdas a decent chunk of market share. Bravo!

    TechDAS Air Force 2

G'day AF2 folk! I have been running mine with a Graham Phantom II and have just ordered an Acoustical Systems Axiom. Has anyone tried that combination?

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia

I have a new turntable here. The Air Force 2 with a Thales Simplicity 2 tonearm. Still using an Atlas. I have also changed the speaker cables to Jorma Statement, changed racks and done some other tweaks. I will update the photos.

    CH Precision D1

I now have a D1 side by side with the Puccini & u-clock, so will post some impressions after more extended listening.

    CH Precision D1

Thank you! I am using Shunyata Zitron Annaconda through a Triton, but just the DCS clocking cable. I will follow your suggestion on that front. Let. Know if you're looking to move on your Cardas!

    CH Precision D1

I will definitely try some isolation alternative for the DCS. Currently on a Finite Elemente Master Reference Pagode, with no isolation between it and the shelf... tweak time!

    CH Precision D1

    Is the build quality good?

    CH Precision D1

This is very helpful, thank you. I am thinking that at first I will get a D1 with dual analogue outputs and keep the DCS for streaming, adding the C1 in due course. You have mentioned some of the other things I was considering. The case work is important to me, hence I have ruled out the MSB...

    CH Precision D1

I was wondering if there are any owners of the CH Precision D1 out there, or anyone who has done some extensive listening? I am considering picking one up, but it's very difficult in Australia to get in home demonstrations. I'm currently running a DCS Puccini with u-clock with Dartzeel...

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia

Thank you guys. The LP storage was custom made for me. The acoustic treatments were handled by an acoustic engineer in Sydney who has a PhD in small room acoustics and manufacturered by a local company. There are 4x large roof panels, 8x wall panels and 4x Helmholtz resonators. The...

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia

Bit of an update - I am now running a Basis with a Graham tonearm and Lyra Atlas. And a couple of pics of the room. (The first is taken through a window, so has some reflections.) Still working on the room, but it's 80% done. Kitchen at the back is changing to white, some more cupboards...

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia

Thanks guys - I will post pics soon. As to amps, I was previously running Tom Evans Linear Bs. Great dynamics. I preferred more powerful amps with the Avantgardes, despite their easy load. Front end will be a long process of auditioning & research!

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia

G'day I'm an audiophile from Sydney, just enjoying the constant journey. I'm lucky enough to have a treated room, and a system that keeps me happy. But the drive to upgrade never ends. Next up is my analogue front end, but current setup is as follows (component - cables). Avantgarde Trios...
