Maybe? Chris West my Naim Tech(Guru) for 15 years, swears they are by far the best sounding. I had a couple different Vishay's that I tried. I can't say for sure but for 20$ so it seemed silly not to get the "best" given the extremely low level signals. That being said I ultimately prefer no...
I am running an Azule Platinum into a MC16 SUT and VPS100. I used some TOTL loading plugs to bring the load from 185 to 100. Nude Z-foil based. I strongly preferred unloaded into this SUT.
I found a great deal on a Innovation with TT3 , after 15 hours of messing with it I got my Benz worn RubyH to play with no stutters or hang ups. My intended destination cart for the arm, an Azule, was mind blowing when it worked, like other worldly, but ultimately could not avoid hang ups...
The Ypsilon is stellar. I am now running a freshly mounted Azule Platinum through a MC16. My Lamm LP2 D was great with NOS 417A's, but the Ypsilon is on another planet.
Thanks. It was a big purchase. Hard to audition in house. The drop in noise floor was immediate. There was clearly something special happening. Thanks goodness, it weighed over 300#'s.
Thats very cool. I own a 9bst 5 channel amp in my home theater and think of their sound as cool to neutral. This SUT came with silver interconnects IIRC, very unlike what I would have expected from Bryston.
I've tried Valhalla 2, Clear, Audience, TYR 1&2, by far a length of Chord Music from my SUT to my Ypsilon VPS100 was the best. My Universal arm has a fixed cable that looks like Cardas, but when my TT3 gets here I'll look for another Music, on secondary. It's the best cable I've ever used. I...
I am a huge fan They completely improved my Giya 3's, when I would compare vinyl to digital there was a "thickness/fullness" to vinyl which I liked. The new feet with carpet rings, just knocked out all that reverberating noise. The bass changed a lot. It got faster, stopped and started...
You are correct there are a lot of moving parts. I agree I would like as much disclosure as possible. That's why a good review just gets you in the door. Until you hear it in your room, especially floor stander speakers, you just don't know exactly what you're getting.
I am not following your logic. While I certainly don't believe in changing more than one variable at a time, I certainly see it differently. A reviewer has an amp(x) and speaker setup at the time the new amp(y) under audition arrives. This installation should be optimized. Someone posted on the...
Appreciate your reply. I may have mislead with the term noise floor as I don't notice more noise when I put the old cables in, I just need to turn it up louder to achieve same perceived and enjoyable loudness. What is most apparent when switching cables to the Vodka is the time I can enjoy...
Hi Kal
There are a couple of very significant improvements that I've I noted, I'll start the way I actually began with the null hypothesis that ethernet cables could not possibly affect sound quality. Information is reclocked, arrives faster than any audio stream needs, can resend packets...
They always say the last meter is the most important, antennae effect for noise. On this forum 60$ let alone 1k for a Sigma is hardly considered expensive. Really worth your time to try. I was floored.
Still feel that way? The only conclusion I can draw is your streamer's dac has a very well shielded clock and well isolated ground plane. Ethernet cable upgrade even to 60$ cinnamon has dramatically improved my streaming quality. It's not even close.
Chord Sarum T blew away a Valhalla 2 from my SUT to phono pre. Not even close. Valhalla was amazing, Chord was transcendant. Clearaudio Universal with captive cable.
I just had my Lamm LP2 deluxe rebuilt and have NOS 417a's, been more than satisfied for 6 years. A record with that component, as I'm pretty much analog only.
I just pulled the trigger on a dms 500, I'll post on my opinion, once I get to know it. First digital component in 10 years, I'm hoping it is enlightening.
