Ran out of time yesterday... I have a friend who heard my PS2000e's and said that if
he had not just purchased Focal Ultimates he would rather have these Grados...
If the price of these is a little steep the Grado GH2 or GH4 are very similar in frequency
response, PS2Ke has noticeably fuller...
I discovered this forum 2 days ago and finished reading it late last night... what a hoot!
High point was the comparison of live piano to speakers - "speakers sound more natural"

I have been a parttime Uber driver since October, and went fulltime three weeks ago. Uber requires annual safety inspections at the driver's expense (usually $20) and if your paperwork is not up to date your sign-in is disabled until you comply. I am a happy Uber driver.

Sincere condolences to all who have lost beloved pets! I am included though not recently... Spiritualists tell us that our dogs and cats do meet us on the other side, very painful now though.
I am not an expert but I have been a huge Tannoy fan since buying 12" Monitor Golds in 1972. Three years ago I bought Canterbury SE's and considered those my
final purchase unless I win a big lottery 8>)... I heard the KR's at RMAF 2013 and was very grateful. I have not heard any Westminster...
I was able to informally test the treble I experienced by listening to the Ayre "Irrational, But Efficacious!" tuneup cd. The point it became inaudible did not bother me, and higher tones came back sporadically!!! The Alpha Primes use tuning dots to tame the high end which some people consider...
Hi Dale, I will listen to more treble-rich music this weekend and let you know... AFAIK my ears don't work well after 12K and maybe worse. They have no extra brightness, I am very sensitive to that and don't like it. I had listened to The Nutcracker ballet on Mercury Living Presence cd, and then...
Having had my Primes for nearly a month, and realizing that my Mad Dogs finally started to bloom, I am finally able to offer a more meaningful comparison. I have been a longtime Grado
fan and still am. However, Head-fi ruined me by seducing me out of the Grado fold... I have been to the...
I did get my Primes on Thursday afternoon, and now have 18 hours on them. The first hour they were not very special, but I had heard them at RMAF and knew they would develop... There is quite often talk of soundstage developed by headphones, but that has never meant anything to me. If I want...
Having heard these at RMAF, I determined that I would buy mine in November... It's November, so I ordered mine today. I will follow up after I receive them and
put some hours on them.
Since the last post I finally had a chance to compare my Mad Dog with Alpha Dog, the Alpha conveys more ambience so the Mad Dog seems more focussed on bass, so I think i am agreeing with your findings.
A more definitive comparison... A couple of weeks ago I was able to listen to the LCD-3's in my home, so I nailed down my thoughts and experience. I carefully compared them
to my Grado PS1000's, HiFiMan HE500's, and Alpha Dogs. They all played all the music faithfully, with differences in...
Hello, sorry to take so long but I have been busy and meanwhile everything has been breaking in and I have a better opinion! My Alpha Dogs are very satisfying to me, and just yesterday I listened for a while to Audeze closed phones through a MacIntosh headphone amp using a CDR of Beethoven's...
My AD's came this morning so I've had a few hours to check them out. I am getting the same rich, meaty music that I remember from RMAF 2013... More in a few days!
Hi Dale, I have been on the list to upgrade my Mad Dogs since last October or November. However, since reading your comparison of the voicing I have been waffling about getting rid of the MD's, so I can decide for myself. At RMAF 2013 I heard the AD's with the Cavalli Liquid Glass amp, and if I...
Hi Dale,
Thanks for all your reviews and posts, very interesting. I have had the Mad Dogs for a couple of years, and am on the list to upgrade to Alpha Dogs. It should be by the end of April, certainly May! If you have
reviewed them here I have missed it. However, I heard them at RMAF 2013 and...
Last week an audio friend alerted me to the charcoal tweak from Audio Direction in Honolulu... I put three charcoal bricquets on top of each of my Tannoy Canterbury's, on top of paper towels and toward the front. It is an organic thing, and totally reversible. I received good results...
