Has anyone heard the Devialet D-Premier Integrated Amp/DAC

Then you would probably not enjoy 6.0.8. I liked 5.7.2beta a lot, but have resisted going back as I also like detail. But yes, there is less bass energy in the newer releases. I hope Devialet will fix this soon

There is a clear difference between 6.08 and 6.09. 6.09 is, as you say, darker sounding and may seem less detailed, but I feel this depends on the source and player software. At the moment I use the new MC19 v0.28 (Windows 7) and find tonal character and detail quite satisfying with 6.09

@dans6959 Thanks very much for your report. It is very distressing to read that Devialet has selected to exclude Linux support for the USB input. As far as I understand it Devialet is using a Thesycon based driver for the XMOS chip with their own code added for integration. I hope Devialet can...

Any subscribers to HiFi News reading this thread? July issue has a review of the 170. Would be interesting to know the main points and any views comparing it to the D-Premier.

I'm on Win7. I can now stream to my DP (with 6.06) using Jriver 18 playing to wasapi exclusive on the new Air2 card emulator. Even 24/192 is possible, but I would need a stronger WiFi signal (currently -57dBm) to trust this for regular use. This was impossible with the old Air and iTunes for...

Do you mean 5.7.1? Is this maybe a typo? I have not listened to 5.7.3. My comment concerns the 5.7.1 and 5.7.2beta. And I would not describe the difference anywhere near harsh.

Thanks. Then 5.7.3 is different from the 5.7.2beta I mention above. In my system I found 5.7.1 a bit bright and 5.7.2b a little darker and very organic. 5.7.3 is more like 5.7.1 then. Will be exiting to hear what 6.0 does with the sound.

Looking at the files in this archive it looks like a version 5.7.2beta I have been using on my D-Premier since December 12. Only one file has time stamp from 2013. If it is this version it sounds very nice indeed. Let us hope v6.0 will give real improvements compared to this

As far as I know Devialet has plans for ASIO for the new AIR driver on Windows. May not be released with the first version so we will have to wait and see

Nothing on May 27th, but the download page is now active it seems. No v6.0 yet, only 5.7.1 so far... https://help.devialet.com/entries/23419527-How-to-update-the-internal-software-firmware-
