This is getting scary in here and now I understand why many people are leaving the forums. Like many here, imho, I am a client of Audioarts - and through the years, I've fallen in love with their brands and feel passionate about them, despite being outside the mainstream high end. They are...
Gary, imho agree that a degree of maliciousness pervades in this industry but especially in this thread. It appears that a few people, imho, have a vested interest in pushing Trinity and will defend at all costs. Trinity has lost two distributors in one year which is not a good sign, regardless...
My understanding is that the US distributor dumped Trinity because of many issues, namely reliability amongst others - despite good sales and that they felt CH Precision to be the superior product in the top tier digital segment.
I'm not surprised you liked them but am surprised they were using CH Precision M1's for the 93-94 db Alumine - a bit overkill?? The Alumine's don't have to play loud to sound good; another great thing about them. Very determined to hear the Reference though...
I own the Alumine monitor and extremely satisfied; totally convinced these are one of the best monitors on the market. Have not heard the Reference but spoke with people who have in Munich and CES, and apparently they have incredible presence, speed and intimacy - along with 97 db efficiency...
I disagree. CH Precision C1 with X1 power supply sounded faster and more like real music when I demo'd it against Trinity. The Trinity was sweet sounding but had no impact
and weight in comparison. CH also sounded better on lower volumes. Just my opinion and a matter of taste....
So I finally got to hear the new Zellaton Stage speakers and they are phenomenal. Nothing prepared me for these, not even my Grand's. Heard them with CH Precision and
can't get over how natural and organic they are. I will try to get to CES to hear them again but asking my wife to let me go to...
Mike - you're absolutely right about the Zellaton's but I also tried the Dart on my 96db Goldmund Dialogue's as well, and it just lacks the energy of CH. One can go either way based on tastes - but the grip and speed of CH appealed to me more.Â
I am in total agreement with the Soulution criticism above. I auditioned it thinking they'd be amazing but it was so dry and lacking in musicality that I just walked out after 15 minutes. I gave them a few more chances but it was always the same story. I much preferred CH Precision from...
I have an appointment for a full Schnerzinger demo next month. The only product I was able to experience were the Giga Protectors and it was as if the curtain came up. Any grunge and noise just vanished. Images gained unreal purity. Very different from anything else I've ever experienced. I'm...
I preferred the CH Precision C1 over Trinity finding the Trinity too soft and mellow. Metronome C8 was very musical but CH is so fast, quiet and linear - it just stood far above the rest for me; though must be used with the optional X1 power supply for ultimate performance...
I currently own Zellaton Grand's and nothing comes close although Zellaton apparently coming out with new speaker called "Stage" and would love to hear it. I heard the Reference and it's the ultimate -wish I had the room! I called Audioarts and they are getting in the Statement's by April. But...
You're already using the CH Precision C1 so it makes sense to listen to the new CH L1 pre. It's in another class and my first pick for a reference pre.
The Sperling is far from soft! To the contrary it's very alive and fast sounding. The AF1 sounded very dynamic and quiet no doubt. I can see why some find it appealing. But I found it failing to convey musicality in the way that the Sperling does. And quite frankly, I don't think the Kronos can...
I've heard the Kronos and Air Force 1 but neither appealed to, with both coming across as just another table and nothing to write home about. In fact, I found the performance of each quite underwhelming. Just more hifi to my ears. My preference is for older tables like the Verdier, Lurne and...
I heard it at Audioarts and it's the most compelling sounding table I've ever experienced. Incredibly fast, super quiet and composed. Makes every table I've heard sound muddy and dated. Really sounds like nothing else out there. Audioarts was using it with a Swiss Audio Consulting phono stage...
Kinch, are you a musician? and did you get your X1 yet? curious about your impressions.... I ordered the new L1 pre/X1 combo and really looking forward to it!
What apparently makes the Nagra DAC so special is the all Nagra power supplies and analog output section which many say is unprecedented in a DAC design. Very curious to hear against my CH Precision C1/X1. At RMAF Nagra will use Stenheim speakers which I heard and are excellent indeed - wish I...
Very interesting indeed....
The new Thoress phono enhancer seems to be a completely different unit than the early collaborative effort with TW - very excited to hear both but but I'll be hearing the Thoress first in a few weeks. Regarding the Allnic, it's that detail you describe that I did not...
My vote goes to the Nagra VPS. After all these years I still have not heard a better phono stage. I listened to the Allnic but preferred the Nagra. I will be demo the Thoress in a few weeks and report back. My suspicion is that the Thoress is king but have to listen first...
I have an appointment next month at my dealer to hear it but just discovered that Nagra will be presenting it at RMAF, so definitely a good opportunity to hear it there. But regarding the Lampizator it has always sounded wonderful but not resolved and not fast the way I like to listen. Way...
That's funny since I also used a Dartzeel 108 with my Zellaton's. That amp is very musical and refined with the kind if high bandwidth the Z's need. But, the Dartzeel was lacking in the drive/energy category so I went for a full CH Precision system. Still pretty but more effortless and dynamic...
