I've had both the S100 and now an S120 - the battery life is getting better with each iteration. The touchscreen is OK as is the WiFi. Picture quality is great for a 1.7" sensor - Canon has now moved to the backlit CMOS sensor.
To get a grip, check out FLIP-BAC. The S100 grip shown on the...
Hi Peter - just want to confirm my understanding of your "handshake" comment...Spectral and Avalon work great together? I'm hoping to arrange a session with some Spectral gear, just out of interest for the brand, but if I can get a "heads up" on what works "best" (gawd, that's a dangerous word)...
+1 here. I've only heard them once in Montreal. My recollection is very positive and I think they were with Nagra (but could be wrong). If the price fits your means, then I'm confident you won't be disappointed. My 2 cents...
Should be fun to watch whatever the outcome. I hope Brazil, as the host nation, has been able to overcome the construction delays, structural collapses and protests in time for the whole event.
I've been using a Clik bag - which sits on my chest. Was very convenient and safe when in Portugal, Spain and Morocco...particularly when whisking through areas like the Cazbah in Tangier. These Clik bags are generally for a body and lens attached along with some accessories like batteries...
Same here...I suppose I'd have to call England or Sweden "my team" - at least from the ancestral POV, and I don't think England really has anymore chance than Sweden winning this time around...
Yes, I heard them both - very comparable and yes, the Mephisto was/is very reminiscent of the Antileon as you say. It's as though everything in the Antileon had been improved upon - noise floor in particular. The Mephisto is dead silent. In so many ways the Pandora/Mephisto are a throwback to...
Ok, will do....w/o hijacking the thread I started, some months back I spent some time considering Colosseum monos vs. Mephisto stereo. Even wrote to Jeff Fritz @ Ultra Audio...ultimately, my choice between the two came down to money. I fully understand your staying with the Zanden...
Ya, all I've heard out of England was their concern about the heat in Brasil....not too positive, I guess their drought will continue.
Are you predicting Brasil as a fan, or on some things that you know?
USA is in tough with Germany and Portugal in their group - and I've no idea where Ghana is...
Hi Lloyd - I suspect we have some things in common. I'll post my system (as you do), once I figure out how to.
I use Altair2 with Gryphon Mephisto(hence my taking umbrage elsewhere on WBF) and Pandora, fronted by Stahl-Tek with a mix of PAD and Transparent cabling. To my ears, this system is...
I'm looking forward to this, but I'm not too sure who the real frontrunners are. In particular, I'll be interested to see if Korea and Japan are able to pull some upsets.
Hi Ack - so what do you think of the ML Neoliths? They look great - hope to hear them some day...
Interesting to see them with Simaudio gear at Munich - I wonder how that worked out. I seem to recall some years back, a number of people liked running Electrocompaniet on ML speakers.
Never mind...
The Alexia's seem to be fantastic speakers. Never heard a bad word about them. Although I'm currently running with Rockports, I've always admired Wilson for their dynamics...
I don't recall arguing over which is best - thanks for putting words in my mouth. I simply agreed with someone else that your comparison was not on. So now, do you want to continue wasting time on this!?
Frankly, no. The Gryphon to which you refer is half the price of this new Vitus. If price is not a salient issue when comparing two products, then why not compare the Vitus, to Bel Canto's "best" stereo amplifier? I'm sure we'll all feel much better in knowing we haven't blown off $100K+ when we...
Hi Morricab,
No sooner had I posted my question then the answer was posted on Wizard's blog...Apparently, it's up to 200w/8 ohms and 400w/4 ohms of Class A. Also, as mentioned all over this thread is Vitus' "intelligent Class A"....be that as it may.
It'll be interesting to see how it...
I may very well have missed this (won't be the first time :o), but is the 700/1400 watts output in Class A/B and if so, then how much of this output is in Class A?? Anyone?
Looks fantastic, but I'll stay pat with my Mephisto for the foreseeable future.
Currently, I'm very intrigued by...
I've heard before about the nausea sensation when a "Schumann Resonance generator" was being used - in that instance it was one made by Kemp Electronics/Acoustics (or something of that order).
Hello everyone,
I've been reading through the Spectral conversations with interest. Sounds like a great product line. I'm curious to know what speakers people are using with Spectral? I've seen Avalon at Goodwin's and Magico somewhere-although I can't remember where.
Thanks for your time...
