I have heard Sashas with the Gryphon Integrated amp and the combo was very good .
The Gryphon seemed to exhibit better bottom end control than the ARC REf 150 but as I was unfamiliar with other components
in the system I can't state this categorically .
Hi Steve , when I am totally happy with the positioning of my speakers I will definitely be retiring those wheels !!
I have some rubber/titanium feet for the spikes that I purchased from Herbie's Audio Lab , the advantage of them , being a hard rubber composite with a smooth finish underneath...
Hi Mr Slow ,
The colour is Aston Martin Karoussel Orange , its the same colour on Wilson's Facebook page , a very fine metalflake type of mandarin finish , its a true stunner ,
but it definitely hits you in the face , especially in a sunny , will lit room . The are also some youtube videos...
A great write up and a great system , you are lucky indeed to have a dedicated listening room !!
The instruments and pictures give a nice touch to the decor , thanks for sharing !
Hi Alfa ,
that should be a correct result , theoretically the less electronics you have in the signal path the purer the signal should be .....
Assuming of course that you don't remove any essential circuitry ....

Oh , Ref 2 phono !!!
Sorry for the confusion , thought we were talking preamps , yes , that IS a nice phono , with the added bonus of balanced outputs , go for it !!!!

Hi Devert ,
I have tried the Ref 150 on the 8 ohm tap and yes , you are correct , the sound is definitely more alive and immediate , there also appears to be an improvement in the bass area also , I'm unsure why this is , but will do more listening during the week ... Cheers and thanks for the...
Hi Bobvin ,
I presume you mean a Ref 5 SE ? Very nice preamp , I'm using an LS27 but had a long term loan of a REF 5Se from a friend who needed to store it somewhere during renovations , definitely the REf 5Se had a ' silkier ' sound with more inner detail and a slight but noticeable...
Bob , that's very interesting , Ref 75 and Alexias , I would have thought the Alexias would need more grunt , for lack of a better expression , maybe I need to persevere with what i have , set up , different impedance taps on the amp etc etc , thanks for the feedback . Out of interest , why did...
Hi Johnny , I never sold my vinyl either , though during a couple of patches it spent some time in cardboard boxes .
I was never without ANY sort of system , but I managed to enjoy the music through some very modest systems ....

Hi rsorren1 , many thanks for the detailed response , I think part of the problem is the room , which has no effective rear wall , just a freestanding fireplace with sides about as high ( almost ) as the woofer module , hopefully the Diablo will arrive on the weekend and we can see how much is...
Thanks everybody for the responses .....
I was hoping for some feedback from anyone has has been using either an ARC REF 150 or a Gryphon Diablo with the Sashas .
Would like to see what other people's experiences have been .
Regards and thanks again ....
Hi there ,
I am on to my 3rd pair of Wilson speakers , initially I had Sophia 2's driven by Audio Research VM220 Monoblocs , the monoblocs exhibited vicegrip like control over the Sophia 2's . I then purchased Sophia 3's and an Audio Research Reference 150 , which was a very nice combo ...
