Hi Guys,

You know how much I love my Tobians. So much I bought them with my own money after having heard more speakers than I can count.

* * To be clear I am NOT affiliated with Suncoast Audio nor Tobian. No one has paid me for this. No one has asked me to do this. I want to be clear about that. * *

I have however had several of my viewers mention that having to fly to the showroom in Florida to hear them to be an obstacle. I understand that.

So I reached out to Suncoast and asked if there is a way to help more people hear them. They came up with the following offer: if you fly to Suncoast to demo the speakers and purchase them they will credit you up to $400 to offset the cost of your flight. I can't say for sure, but if you order them over the phone from them without flying there first they may still give you the credit. :)

I only share this as you've seen me post here and on my channels how for me - these are the best speakers I have ever heard. I simply want to help share them with more people....and then maybe more will be drawn into the dark side of low power tube amps (as you know I love them). :)

Also there are primarily two dealers I personally purchase from and Suncoast is one of them. So I am simply - as a customer of theirs whose bought many things from them - pass this along in hopes it helps.

Folks "considering" purchasing state of the art $40K speakers consider $400 air fare to be an "obstacle"?!!!!!!!!! REALLY?!!!!!!!!! Puleeeeezeeeeee..... Personally, I would not take people like that seriously.

While Im not up to speed on the cost of internal US flights (I dont live there), with a speaker at this price I would be expecting the offer to be at least offsetting the full flight cost (assuming its economy, business class would be taking advantage...). Margins are not crazy in the audio world but there is plenty in a 40K sale to cover this and everybody still wins.

It's amazing how good people are at lecturing how other people aren't giving away enough free stuff. :)

Most people would look at this and say 'wow', that's a nice gesture. Thank you for offering something you don't need to.

A selfish person looks at it and says "give me more for free like business class as even though I have no idea how to run a hifi business/distributor I'm going to lecture you about margins which I know nothing about".

Funny - I head from Mike that it's already got 2 different people who've booked flights and appointments with him for Tobians.

I've got to tell you, it's kinda funny to watch the people complain it's not ENOUGH of a nice gesture and even though never in a million years would they ever be a buyer for such an item, they love lecturing how it should be done.

It's always the non-buyers who complain the most. LOL

I don't really care if people take advantage of this or not. I don't care what people buy. It's funny to watch people complain that a nice gesture isn't nice enough. It takes a special kind of way at looking at the world to take that tact.

Oh - and I bet Hydrology if you actually bought a pair of signature Tobian's from him and their amp, he'd pop in that several extra hundred dollars for the business class fare you seem to need. :)

Amazing how you heard so quick from a dealer who you claim you have no skin in the game with, about sales as a result of this "promotion". Must be a very tight friendship. I know my friends look after me too.

I did not say in any way the gesture wasn't nice, my comment was an observation, you chose to read it as criticism. As I work in the industry, I know how to match the right promotion to the target demographic wisely. I dont know about discounting in Americaland but I would assume somebody would want more than a 1% discount on a US$40K pair of speakers.
I sell Wilson Audio - I doubt VERY MUCH a $400 promotion would get somebody to hop on the plane from one side of Australia to the other to buy a pair.

I understand it may be tough for you to relate to people having relationships that transcends purely monetary exchanges. Most of us don't have that same issue. FYI it's calling having friends. :)

I love your premise in this: "I won't fly coach - I demand business class for free!" and you lecture us about margins you know nothing about and how your 'friends' require a monetary exchange.

Thankfully most of us have a life outside of forums and just don't care about getting dragged down with those who operate on an immature level. Have fun being upset about a dealer helping interested buyers - I can see why you'd be so triggered. :).

I feel a new video topic coming on: people who get triggered by a dealer offering a free flight to his customers. LOL
