North Texas, or wherever there is a Marriott.
Curious if anyone has any experience with this device.
Ethernet filters seem to be a subject that is often discussed here, ENO2, Smooth Lan EE1....

Just looking for any feedback as it is very competitive price wise with the ENO2 and other devices. $1250.00 USD for 1m

There is also a USB Version. $1350.00

The one thing I have learned in streaming is that not one thing does it all when it comes to removing noise. I use a plethora of products in my system to thwart as much noise as possible. Do certain things do better than others? Yes but not one of my components can I honestly say, did it all…or anywhere even close to it.

The claim that it removes "all noise" is laughable to me. Especially when products like (for instance) the Schnerzinger grid protector makes such a nice reported difference in many outstanding rigs. But this product claims to rid a system of all noise? To me, that just wreaks of marketing horse hockey.

I have galvanic isolation in my switch. That sure as heck didn't get rid of all of the noise. Not even close.

Think they are referring to Ethernet. Think this is 2 different things, but that's why I asked. So you have experience with this device?

No sir. I use the Muon Pro and Shunyata Omega in between the switch and Lumin UX1, with a plethora of other products upstream from that to further reduce any kind of incoming noise. Even the PC to the Lumin is double shielded. Honestly, I wouldn't mind hearing what it does (and doesn't) bring to the table though.

I've used one of these for well over a year. Bought it blind / deaf. It is excellent and sonically exceeded certain more expensive options in my system.

The only downside is that it can be operationally quirky. For the majority of servers / streamers, no problem at all. For others, it might only handshake if you plug it in when the device is already on (or off). And in a minority of cases (a single one, to my knowledge), it won't work at all.

I tried both the LAN isolator (Ren) and the USB cable (Klar) for about a week, they were sent along with a Merason DAC 1 MkII.

Really remarkable sound. I used the Ren between a mesh hub (?), with the stock SMPS and the input of an Antipodes K21, as well as the Klar between the K21 and a Merason DAC 1 MkII. I was really surprised at how much of an improvement it wrought. The Klar was the more effective of the two, but the Ren did noticeably raise the performance. My experience is that it drops the noise floor creating a much more immersive experience, from bass to treble to soundstaging. All of that with both more detail while retaining a sweeter, treble and a meatier bass.

I tried the Ren and Klar with my Oppo 105 as my DAC and ... wow that was interesting. That raised the Oppo's performance strikingly. Not close to the Merason's performance, but if I were upgrading, the thought occurred to me that the Ren might be the better first allocation of money. I put my little toe in the water and tried iFi's LAN "Silencer" which worked nicely, though with a slightly more pinched presentation.

I have not tried the Muon or any other tweaks to my digital system. It seemed to me that digital tweaks were like an endless fishing line unspooling. Having said that, I'm starting to pull on that "fishing line." With the fires going on in LA right now ... no new purchases for me.

The prices are not insignificant but relatively affordable in the insane world of audio pricing. It's made, as I understand it, by the son of the designer of Bladelius amplifiers.

I am with Tom. I am sure it works. But do I believe it is a panacea? No.

I would love to try one and see how well it perfroms compared to the other options like Aardvark and CAD.

What I like about this REN is its actually a cable/filter. No need to worry about what cable you are attaching either side of the filter, just plug it in and go.
