Bargain Of Our LifeTime ?!

https://www.artistcloner.com/reviews.html

I just recently noticed this thread and thought I would chime in. I purchased the pair of Mekanika speakers that Sylvio showed in the Montreal Audio show back in April. It was a total gamble for sure because I had never heard them but based on the many positive show reviews and the introductory pricing I decided to take the plunge and I placed the order with Sylvio. He is a real gentleman and insisted on upgrading them first to add an adjustable BSC bass level control switch at no additional cost. The speaker already had an adjustable tweeter level switch, so together with the bass switch users can dial in the level of bass and treble frequencies to fit their room, a really nice touch. The speakers arrived in June in large custom made wooden crates which were extremely well made for safe transport of the speakers.

I’ll fast forward to today where I have these speakers setup and running in my large apartment being driven by my new SpaceTechLabs preamplifier and amp, with the XACT S1 EVO streamer / server and the Lampizator Poseidon DAC. As I recently told Sylvio in an email, this is by far the best sound I have heard in any of my listening rooms, and not only that this is the best sound I recall hearing from any audio system I have heard ever.

So needless to say I am really thrilled that I took a chance on the Mekanika speakers, and for that matter the rest of my system as well. I like to purchase equipment direct from extremely passionate smaller artisan designers. I plan to post my system in the users system area with the title “A Road Less Traveled” at some point when time permits.

There are so many aspects to the design of these speakers that I love. The open baffle AMT tweeter sits right at ear level and just sounds so amazing. The 2 way MTM driver configuration with the deep bass enclosures with their optimal golden ratio dimensions encased in stone veneer to minimize vibration providing for powerful and well textured bass. The bass reflex ports aimed towards the floor and ceiling are a nice touch to control bass room boom. The single hand wired silver soldered first order crossover is so clearly made with extremely high quality components. So while I love the steam punk design of this speaker, there is a lot of careful thought that went into the form, configuration, and quality of the components that make up the speaker.

I’ll close by saying that I had trouble believing that any speaker could live up to the many fabulous reviews that I read and saw on YouTube about this speaker following the 2024 Montreal Audio show. Now that I experience the amazing sound and music in my room, I am a believer. I know it sounds cliche, but it is honestly no exaggeration to say that I feel like the artists are cloned into my listening room putting on a private concert. I encourage anyone who has an inclination to take a chance on a small artisan speaker designer to take a look at Artist Cloner Mekanika speakers. I’m moving to North Carolina in a few weeks, but if anyone in the NYC area would like an audition in the next two weeks, I live in Jersey City so reach out to me directly.

One final note. Every serious audiophile knows that the audio chain is as strong as its weakest link. Obviously the XACT S1 EVO streamer / server, the Lampizator Poseidon DAC, and of course the SpaceTechLabs amp, preamp, and super tube rectifiers are just as important to the amazing sound quality I am experiencing. Sylvio acknowledges that on his website, saying “To reach this level of audio performance the associated equipment is a significant contributor to the overall musical experience”. But this thread was about the Mekanikas, so that is the focus of my comments here. A lot of positive ink has already been spilled on the Lampizator Poseidon DAC. I plan to post more positive comments about Spacetechlabs preamp, amp and super tube rectifiers and the XACT S1 EVO streamer server another time.
