king for a new phono preamp and these two caught my interest. I have an LP12 turntable with Ekos SE tone arm and Soundsmith Aida mk2 cartridge.
any feedback from experience is much appreciated.

I have a VDH The Grail phono. I purchased it for absolute zero heat dissipation and it has met that need and I have been very pleased. It's fast, detailed like crazy and has great tonality. I'm considering selling to pay for a tubed Phono just to compare tastes and for different moods, but man I'm not sure I can as it's been a treat to use. This thing is absolutely silent in the groove and music just eminates from the speakers. Shockingly quiet with low impedance cartridges.
