I bought my first pair of magneplanars the other night they were going great and then i went to play a movie and one of them started making a rattling noise at very low frequency. I'm brand new to these but from my limited research i believe you can repair them yourself-I read something about coil wires at the bottom of the speaker coming loose and was wondering if anyone had successfully fixed a problem like this on a speaker of similar size to the magneplanar 2.7qrs

Yes you can. It's been 2 or 3 years since I fixed my 1.6QRs. If memory serves, I used acetone or maybe nail polish remover, many Q tips & cotton balls, the glue I used was DAP Weldwood contact cement (the original).
Besides the U coils top & bottom, I also inspected the whole panel and repaired spots that looked questionable or was starting to lift

Good luck!
