I have an addictive personality. I know that about myself; so, I stay away, very far away from certain things.
When it comes to recorded music, I generally throw the windows open, unbolt all the doors, stand bare-chested on the first step, one hand on newel post, other arm outstretched towards the portico and declare, "Countrymen, I am here!"
For example, I am huge fan of Chick Corea's music. My latest acquisition is an album called Space Jazz. It is described as "the soundtrack of the book" (Battlefield Earth) by L. Ron Hubbard. I am not a fan a L. Ron Hubbard. Even if I read for pleasure, which I generally do not, science fiction would be somewhere at the bottom of my list. Yet, when I discovered that Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Gayle Moran are all on this album, it's procurement was assured.
