Actually, as a drummer I would much rather have preferred a real kit to play than the stupid, plasticy, non-responsive, devoid-of-feeling spacebar on my Mac. A kick drum for me, at least, would have been much easier.

That was my experience. My spacebar seemed slow and without "feeling". I play guitar and have messed around on fellow musician's drums enough times to know how fast a pedal strikes the drum when you step on it. It's much more difficult than tapping a keyboard spacebar.
I also think that it depends of the keyboard we are using. ...For example; try different keyboards...they all have different sensitivities...keystrokes..touches...clicking tones and rhythm.
Some keyboards don't have the best tempo around. :b
? 839 and 881 this morning ... a fair improvement from yesterday (same keyboard).
* I have about a dozen keyboards; I'm sure some of you here have way more than that. ...And I am not including Androids, tablets, iPads, iPhones, etc.
