We had a fantastic show this year and had the pleasure of meeting many new music lovers including Russ from WBF. I even had the pleasure of listening to a couple rooms with him. This show was packed. I have never seen the amount of traffic at a show on a Friday that this years show produced.

This years room was 30' by 60' with a 15' ceiling. Let's just say that we had a hard time not turning this system up lol.

The System

The front end of the system was led by the star of the show KRONOS PRO limited edition table with the new carbon fiber arm board and the Opus One cartridge. WOW! And last but not least the KRONOS SCPS!

The digital side was handled by Esoteric including their transport, dual mono DAC's and clock, N-01 streamer with built in DAC, and we had an Aurender N-10 music server as well. For tape we had a custom Technic's 1520 R2R by J-corder.

The KRONOS fed the VAC Statement phono pre and the heart of the system was the VAC Statement Line Stage. The power was handled by 4 - 450Iq Statement power amps to feed the ULTRA 11's.

All electronics were on the Critical Mass Maxxum racks. Another WOW!

All cabling was handled by MasterBuilt Audio consisting mostly of Ultra with a couple of Signature and Reference in the mix.

We had 12 ASC tube traps throughout the room.

I was at Axpona for all three days and spent a lot of time in the Von Schweikert room each day. In my opinion, this room had the best sound of the entire show by far. No matter what genre of music was playing, the sound quality was exemplary. The Nutcracker Suite was my favorite. The airiness of the flutes, the beauty of the strings and the weight of the bass and drums made me feel like I was sitting in the tenth row at the New York Philharmonic. I just closed my eyes and was totally immersed. Bravo!

I totally agree, but the sound did not really solidify until Saturday night, when it was amazing and getting huge audience response, even from Fremer!!!!
