B&W 606 S3

I bought the B&W 606 S3's because of high ratings, but matching them up to a receiver is a little tricky because the 606's impedence drops down to 3.7. I walked out of best buy with the sony dh 590, because I was told I needed a receiver to hook the speakers up to my Sony Bravia (14 years old), And I hadn't reviewed any receivers, and I didn't know any better. Can I get some reccomendations for a receiver that can easily Handle the power requirements around $1k or less ? Thanks
