Hi,

I guess I'll lead off by saying that I run the Bay Area Audiophile Society and publish its blog - http://baasnotes.com/. We've got over 300 members and meet 10 times per year.

My current audio interests center around DSP, active (digital) crossovers, and total-system (electronics/speakers/room) transfer functions.

I have not played a CD or SACD in my home in three years. I do listen to vinyl on occasion.

My chain is: Mac Pro -> Firewire -> Prism Orpheus -> Goldmund Amplification -> eFicion F300 4-ways

Cheers,

Bob

Welcome to the forum! Always good to have people here from my old home town (used to work in Santa Clara and lived in Los Altos). I am sure you will find a lot we can talk about here :).

Wish I had as much motivation as you have to keep a blog going :). Nicely done.

Hi Bob. Welcome to the WBF. Big thanks for joining us.

That sure looks like an impressive set up you've got. I'd love to come by one day and check out your system. I'm particularly interested in that Prism Orpheus, and it sure would be sweet to have a demo/tutorial by an actual user. Love to hear those eFicions as well. What are you using, if anything, to control the Mac Pro?

Bob

welcome to WBF and nice to meet you'

FWIW, I started the Bay Area Audio Society (BAAS) ~8-9 years ago and we now loosely have perhaps 40 members

It would be nice to have a combined event between our two groups

Baas2?

You bet. Unfortunate the our groups have the same name... LOL.

I belong to the Bay Area Artichoke Society (BAAS), can our members come, too?

But, seriously. It would be great to see the two societies get together and make one Big Ass Audio Society (BAAS) gathering.

Are you done denigrating our group?

In the immortal words of Al Pacino, "I'm just gettin' started!"

Just kidding. I just thought it was funny that we had two BAAS's and thought it would be funny if I pretended to belong to a third dedicated to artichokes.

Next time, I'll open a window before I work with model airplane glue.

In the meantime, I'll accept your apologies, but only if you accept mine first.

Otherwise, no deal.
