Buzzing issues with my preamp

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Fosi Audio Box X2 phono preamp for my turntable setup. So far, I have been enjoying the product. However, it makes a buzzing sound whenever it's turned on, and it continues when I play records, which is frustrating.

I have done some research into the issue, and I think it's to do with grounding. Apparently, my Pioneer PL-30k stereo turntable does not have a physical ground connection point, so that's not the issue. My preamp and AV receiver, however, both have grounding ports. Will connecting these two ports with some kind of grounding wire fix my buzzing problem? Or could it be unrelated to grounding and more to do with other factors like my power supply, quality of RCA cables, or something else?

Thanks!

Are the TT, Fosi and other stuff all plugged into the same power strip?
Does the system make a hum with it one something other than the Fosi?

Correct.

It might be the issue…

Try it.

Or could it be unrelated to grounding and more to do with other factors like my power supply, quality of RCA cables, or something else?

Thanks!
It is not the RCAs.

I personally could not live without the above device.

No snake oil, no silly claims, when there is ground hum this thing kills it.

Kindest regards, G.

Thanks for your response dude.

Yes, they are. Could that be the problem?
Unlikely

No, if I use the TT's built-in preamp, there is no hum, so I'm sure it's the Fosi.
I would suggest that you move the power cords around with the system on, and see if things change.
Somewhere there is probably a loop with the Fosi, its brick, etc.
