It looks that it happens the same down here in Mexico - 2/3 support Democrat policies above Republican.

And I'm sure if polls were taken elsewhere (and they probably have) the outsome would be quite similar.

Makes you wonder what the allure of the Republican platform is for U.S. voters?

But don't the Canadians themselves have a conservative leadership? Do they already have regrets, or is there a marked difference between what they want for themselves, domestically, and the foreign policy they're comfortable with in their neighbors?

Yes...Stephen Harper's Conservatives were elected with a majority, but they are much more to the left of any Republican platform. One of the major reasons for this is that regardless of poilitical ideology, Canadians are very protective of their national healthcare system, and a hardcore rightest party would never get elected here.

Hi guys

Happy Saturday

You all know that political topics are frowned upon here because they invariably deteriorate into political factions and arguments break out which result in thread closure. This thread is being closely monitored for these reasons

Good morning Steve!

I wasn't 100% sure about posting this, but thought it was interesting enough to take a chance. And not so much for people's political party affiliation, but more as a general view around the world and basic perceptions.

Feel free to close it if you are more comfortable with that. No worries.
