Hi Lee. I read this with interest as a Vivaldi Apex owner. It seems that most of these improvements could be made to the Vivaldi/Rossini lines. The differential DAC upgrade doubling the current sources seems doable. Improving the power supply by optimizing transformers for both Digital and Analog also seems doable as do the changes made to the chassis. It would increase the price and might also necessitate a larger “box” but that wouldn’t be a roadblock for upgraders. Any thoughts?

"We’ll be discussing both Tomix & ACTUS in more detail in subsequent posts…" - the best is yet to come!

Maybe so, but the mono DAC technology is pretty unique and probably remain with the flagship. Doubling the current sources would require a hardware update like the Apex so that likely would not happen soon.

Of course. There are advantages to mono DACs as elucidated in the posting and would Varese would remain the flagship. I am suggesting a hardware upgrade which I know will take time but I believe will sell very well to those who don’t want DCS closed system or want to spend 300k. A say 60k solution getting darn close to Varese would be similar to what Wadax is doing with Studio.

If they could do a $50k to $60K Player with 90% of the flagship sonics, it would certainly be a big hit.
