I wrote that a few months ago, after the 2024 Munich show...
"This was my 15th time traveling to the Munich show, and this year my lovely wife joined me (her 3rd time).
For many years I was entering almost every room and tried to listen to everything I could.
at the MOC and the HFD. That was when I was "just" an end customer.
But in the last few years post covid mainely, I have been traveling mostly for vacation with friends and to meet some ppl around the world that I'm friends with on the basis of our hobbies. and mainly to meet our joint manufacturer that we work with.
i saved the best for last -
my Best room in the show goes to "Destination audio" with Lampizator this year.
this brand from Poland that I just saw a glimpse of on the internet was shockingly good.
I never got the chance to hear or know them till now.
we entered the room and immediately fell in LOVE. those "Nika" speakers from D.A and their GM70 dual chassis integrated amp just floored us along with Lukasz dac. with absolutely wonderful tone and music capability. We were there in their room - in and out a couple of times.
The room seems almost "sad" with almost no equipment like the others,
but a true system to our senses. source, amp and a pair of speakers!
that just plays music. no sales guys, no interruptions! no banners no shit. (excuse my French)
That room was a real treat and we just Loved it the MOST."
After a few weeks I got in touch with Sam, and decided to pull the trigger and order a pair of NIKA's to our home. Even though we invested money and a lot of our passion to our beloved Clarisys audio Auditorium, we thought the NIKA will be a great addition to our hours on hours of listening to music. it's a different perspective and experience that we are able to get to ourselves and enjoy both worlds.
we Love the Nika that much.
Sam is very personal with his build and a pair of his speakers or electronic equipment take some time to build, we the Very best of attention and personal touch (plus a LOT of communication to understand who will get his "Babies")
A few weeks ago they finally arrived, getting here in the middle of one of the worst wars Israel has ever been, and playing a role not only for our music love but also for some moral and a little bump to our happiness in life.
The NIKA arrives in 3 very big wooden boxes. two main and one "small" one with the two mid horns inside.
My Nika is the first in the world with an Upgrade form to get the horn attached to the main unit with a Camera like tripod attachment. and a very well done and super pro one that got the speakers a lot more ability to fine tune.
Once you open the wooden boxes you can smell and feel the touch and incredible top notch woodworking and attention to details that Sam and his workers put into it.
it's a living breathing work of art! even before plugging them into anything...
just the look of them standing in your room and letting your eyes just floating on their perfect oil and wax finish - is just mesmerizing.
The Clarisys had to get aside to accommodate the NIKA (for now) and my all system transferred from large panel ultra big and powerful presentation to an 'old school" wood hybrid horn topology based... that I love as much as the first.
put some music in and just that out of the box its MUSIC. no harshness, no squealing tweeters, no brittle highs. no holed in the mid bass no nothing!
just music flow...
I have had some experience with Horns based speakers in my life and own several from different brands and models. small and very big... but what the Nika is capable of bringing in the sense of musicality, honogenic and flow is remarcable with the Horn dynamics and Live feeling we all inspired. The NIKA 16" alnico magnet driver tuned to a more "dark" sounding and fits so perfectly with the horns (mid and tweeter) compression drivers.
There are no holes and nothing is lost in presentation. when you have a big punch or low bass it just delivers. The speakers are very easy to place as they have a single short bass reflex in the front and their enclosure is well designed and built...
The tonality is just beautiful with all audiophile aspects without showing them every second.
and that is exactly what i was looking for. a speaker that I can listen to for hours with any kind of music with a whole feeling to them. and that's exactly what i got!
After 150 hours they sounded even more impressive and I must say my analog section sources got a real turn to them through the Nika.. as Sam is a very much master tape and vinyl aficionado and I bet he tuned them with that in his ears.
I am a very happy camper with the NIKA and I guess our love at first sight was indeed a true one.
