Earth Quakes Are A Given In California

I know that WBF has many members in and around the SF Bay Area. Yesterday seemed to be a great day for rock and rolling of the earth with quakes and after shocks starting around 3:00 with a 4.0 in the afternoon and another good one measuring 4.2 around 8:00 PM.

Although 4.2 might seem a little weak on the Richter scale for me it was a huge jolt that shook my house and had water dancing out of my pool because the epicenter was near the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley and I live about 14 miles away. One of my daughters lives a mile from the epicenter and her place apparently shook violently. Many aftershocks followed and I felt that my entire sense of balance and equilibrium was off for at least an hour as the ground seemed to constantly vibrate.

Any one else here in the Bay Area enjoy the shaking yesterday

Another good reason to avoid buying a turntable :)

Odd thing. Yesterday during 2nd period at my kids' high school, which would be around 9:30 a.m., their school had an earthquake drill.

Steve,
I didnt feel the 1st temblor while I was at work, but sure felt the one last nite sitting on my couch.
I always look up at the ceiling fan to decide whether I need to "adjust my position".
A little scary, but brief. My dog didnt even flinch. So much for canine telepathy.

I felt the first quake at work. The second shake in the evening was not felt. I'm down the penninsula near woodside.
