Hi there, since I am using a tube amp (Air Tight 300R) for the first time, it is time to research the subject of tubes. Now using the new WE 300B tubes. Has anyone got experience with the Elrog ER300B or especially the ER300B-Mo? Or Takatsuki 300R? Also interested in the reliability of these expensive tubes. Thanks for the input :) !

I have been using both the Takatsuki and the new WE 300B. No experience with the Elrog. However, I am only using them on my mid-range. Both the Tak and the WE are very quiet, but the WE a bit quieter (my midrange has 112dB sensitivity, connected directly to the amps). Talking to Charles Whitener, he said WE has a patented method of hanging the filaments that results in low noise. I feel the Tak is a bit more laid back and more "rounded", and the WE sounds more dynamic, but again only by degrees. Both are excellent. I have used the Taks for about 3 years before putting the WE in about 3 years ago. I put the Taks in again last month just to see if there is a difference, which is very slight. I can't say which one I prefer.

Hi;

I did not compare them myself but you do have a nice comparison here also taking into account Korean Stradi 300b tubes.

Cheers;
