Expect DNS issues today - your computer may be offline all of a sudden

There was malware going around last year that took over the root DNS servers around the internet, exploiting a long-standing DNS bug, and they were redirecting you to their sites. The FBI had temporarily patched things up as ordered by a court, in order to give time to ISPs to patch their DNS servers, but this morning as of 12:01am that patch was removed. Anyone using outdated operating systems or old DNS servers may find themselves offline. Contact your ISP asap.

If your computer is offline you will have to do the following (Windows), which means you have to have some other computer connected on the net:

1. Get the list of DNS servers you are using by running ipconfig /all from the command line; then
2. check them against the FBI's list at https://forms.fbi.gov/check-to-see-if-your-computer-is-using-rogue-DNS
