“We stand on the edge of the abyss, across whose unknowable face we paint meaning
so as not to see into it.

It is always there. But we’re here too, and we are no less real than the abyss. We are no less meaningful for being transient creatures caught up in something too big for us.
There is still value to our lives. I’ve learned that those things that are most fragile
are also the most precious.”

~ Ovadya ben Malka, " A Damaged Mirror "

“Little Fly
Thy summers play,
My thoughtless hand
Has brush'd away.

Am not I
A fly like thee?
Or art not thou
A man like me?

For I dance
And drink & sing:
Till some blind hand
Shall brush my wing.

If thought is life
And strength & breath:
And the want
Of thought is death;

Then am I
A happy fly,
If I live,
Or if I die”

~ William Blake, " Songs of Innocence and of Experience "

“Years vanish. Months collapse. Time is like a tall building made of playing cards.
It seems orderly until a strong gust of wind comes along and blows the whole thing skyward.

Imagine it: an entire deck of cards soaring like a flock of birds.”

~ Dani Shapiro, " Hourglass: Time Memory, Marriage

William Blake had a channel few have ever had access to.

Longtime F1 fan. I was watching the race live when the great Ayrton Senna lost his life in a heavy crash. It was ten years before I could watch another. The Grosjean incident I won’t comment on because of honoring the rules here regarding posts about religion.
