I just purchased one of these cartridges for $50 from a dealer. One of the channels is out, but VAS said they can fix (which I found out before I purchased it). I suppose that Grado could probably fix it as well.
Anyway, there are no sound samples of it online, and the samples of the Platinum version over the regular Reference version have me worried as the Statement version is much more revealing, ruining the ideal sound produced by the Reference.
Now I now that such things are very system dependant, especially if there are step-ups used with the Statement.
But the question to ask is what a Statement Sonata 1 sounds like compared to the "ideal" sound of a Reference Platinum 1?
