Hello! I've known about this forum for quite a while but never took the plunge to sign up. I've built a system mostly using A'Gon and USAM, finding deals and working my way up the ladder as best I can. I built a dedicated room in the basement 4 years ago and spent a lot of time exploring computer audio and while I found it "neat," I didn't really get all that emotionally wrapped up in it. I bought a turntable about a year later and was absolutely hooked. Since then, I've been buying vinyl like my life depended on it, and upgraded to a PolyTable Super12, Art9 cartridge, and recently picked up a Parks Audio Puffin phonostage which, while not a high dollar unit, sounds wonderful to me. I had a Herron VTPH-2 that circumstances unfortunately dictated I had to part with, so I have some experience with very good phono stages, and the Puffin is no slouch.

That said, I recently decided to give digital another shot, but this time using CDs instead of file-based playback. I got a TASCAM CD-500b off eBay and am routing it via AES into the newest Yggdrasil and it has been a wild ride, and a fun one. Hopefully tomorrow I take delivery of a Jay's Audio CDT2-Mk II to feed the Yggy. I'm now buying CDs like my life depended on it :) Still have all my analog gear and vinyl, but am finding that when properly setup and after finding an amplifier that matches well with my mains (Dynaudio Focus 260s, powered by an Odyssey Stratos Extreme with upgrades), this system delivers sonically all the intangibles that were solely the domain of vinyl up to now.

So that's my story, hoping for a fun evening of listening to new gear tomorrow and this coming weekend. Hope to see you all around the forum and contribute where I can.

Here's a shot of my listening room. It's small, but effective.
