How I Fell In Love Again With My System

It's been a while since I posted anything about my system. I have been enjoying it and still love my system and speakers. After many years in this hobby this past year, I have concluded that what we enjoy as far as sound reproduction goes is very much in large part how the gear and speakers sound in the room acoustics we all have. I changed panels and the sound took on a new life, even taking one panel off in one area made such an impact, it is truly mind-blowing what the room does to the final sound that we hear. After many, many years of using all types of power conditioners (PS Audio works the best). I tried to go back to the natural sans any conditioners after 15 years of never being without one. I expected to go right back to the conditioner's lickly split. I did it after changing my room panels because it's been so long since I used AC power from the wall. I let the system warm up for a while and like always I clear my mind of conclusions and just relax and have my I don't give a crap attitude and just listen if it sounds worse then go back to where the system was. It took a few tracks to feel the music, and then it hit me, the sound had more feel, soul, body, and more natural detail, not just clean detail, but the biggest thing was the true weight and presence of the music reproduction. Some trade-offs sure, less, detail but then less flatness and sameness. But I had much better mid-bass and vocal weight and presence to them. I gave it several days and went back to my conditioner, and the other conditioner I had for giggles to see if one could beat the natural setup now and took me 30 seconds or so to say nope, it is better natural, now on my HT setup downstairs they make an improvement but then the quality of the gear in that system is nowhere near my audio system. In a good system, anything we do will make a change from AC outlets to stands and racks and the type of platforms they use, AC wall plates (pure copper) makes an easy improvement with much lower noise to the copper blocking all the crap in the air today from new technology wifi from routers and such. My new 5G FIOS router impacted my garage door opener in the garage below the room the router is in, I had the garage door company come out thinking my door opener was acting up, he said you changed anything lately I said a new router, he said unplug it for me if you would, and the issue went away. so he changed the direction of the pickup wire and things improved, even my PC speakers had noise, so I had to buy new ones. Monarch Pure Cooper wall plates for $12.00 are the best money I've spent on my systems. No matter the type of music I play now it sounds "right" More of everything and no longer less engaging. My wife said one day that is the best your system has sounded, it sounds really good now. I said I agree.

Thank you for your post. This has been my experience as well. I am not against conditioners, but in my systems they took away vital elements of the music reproduction and gave me "flatness" instead. I am certain, it varies from system to system, given the vast number of audiophiles using conditioners.
