Jurassic World Official Trailer #1 (2015) - Chris Pratt, Jake Johnson

Hi

Went to see it... Yesterday.. Nostalgia and all that. I loved the original, the sequel not at all

This one , this Jurassic World? AWFUL.
BAD Movie. One of the worst movie I've ever watched.
That's all I have to say about this.

Given my small sample size (my family) it is a great movie for anyone under the age of 13.

I concur... Kids applauded in the theater.. Go see it and let us know...

I did. I guessed the ending less than half way through. :(

My wife and I got free premiere tickets through a friend...the movie sucks. I did get free popcorn and soda.

Ok, here's a question: What do you think today is the percentage of Hollywood movies directed to the younger audience; say teenagers?
...As compared to a mature audience (anywhere between 20 and 100).

And thanks for the feedback on 'Jurassic World' ... it's good enough for me to skip it @ the theater (I'll wait for it to be released on Blu-ray instead).

One more thing; did you see it in 3D?

And last thing; about 'Mad Max: Road Fury' in 3D @ IMAX? ...Now that one I've heard (from Tim) that it has nothing more than a long car truck chase, with characters taken directly from Hollywood boulevard on a Friday night after midnight when only the bars and discotheques and strip joints are fully open and active.
...And from others, with perhaps a more easier emphasis on "pure adrenaline fun without thinking", that it was very entertaining and representative of the world we live in in 2015. :D
And that, from people of all ages, even matured ones (older than me @ 66).

Anyway, from the trailer I can sense the targeted audience for 'Jurassic World', and it all makes perfect sense Frantz and Jack and doctor Jaz's comments just above.

* Under 13, ok Jack, I read you.

? Would still like to know, only for curiosity sake, if you guys saw it in 3D or not. ...Because I've read somewhere that the 3D rendition is quite good.
I know I know...it don't matter @ all if the film sucks in the first place. ...Just as a technical question then, nothing more.

@Frantz I thought it was predictable eye candy. Poor character development, gratuitous violence in some parts (the aviary breakout), unterminated story arcs (a couple), three characters miscast (I like Pratt but.......). To be fair there really isn't much that could be done with the story anyway. That the park got to open after what happened after the first movie in itself is incredulous.

@Bob - 2D only Bob. 3D makes me dizzy if I'm not in a very small area in a theater where it doesn't. Getting those seats isn't always possible so I just avoid 3D altogether.

It's a total cgi overload....soon there will be no need for human actors to sell tickets. $500 million first day box office...Hollywood loves that.

I liked I and III enough to buy the DVDs then. So I needed to watch this. Went with my daughter the other day. She loved it and asked me to play the first on DVD that night. Great effects, good entertainment value, almost a re-boot, but I was entertained. That dinos existed 50 millions years ago always boggles my mind. How do I even begin to count?

It was a bubblegum movie. Totally disposable and yes, total CGI overload.

sad to say that we got to see it as well and wish there was something good I could say. Not worth the rental unless you're with your grandkids. Having said that they are laughing all the way to the bank

This is just unbelievable:

"In just two weeks, the film has earned a worldwide total of $981.3 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest installment of the Jurassic franchise “will be the fastest in history to hit $1 billion.”

I think one has to put on his kids thinking cap here. :D Same old plot but my 21 year old daughter noticed the 'high tech' effects of the J.World when compared to the first Jurassic Park, which she said was stone age, which she says is why she likes JW better. :D And oh, having done the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Orlando with her many years ago, she looks forward to a possible new ride in the future with the giant croc trying to snap up the kids (and grown ups) in a river ride. :D

Just to say that what the masses prefer @ the movies is not always the best movie.

Would it be related to the type of audience reflecting our overall society's mentality?

I think the box office can be summed up in two words: Kids Rule

considering how well the original JP cgi has stood the test of time, that's interesting commentary.

edit: didn't bruce (orig.jaws) try to snap up people at a major theme park?

We had no plans on seeing this until my wife heard it was doing so well at the box office. So we gave it a shot. It was a complete waste of the $6 admission and 2 hours of our time.
