Mfa tube amps that used citation ii transformers

Once upon a time I read somewhere that MFA was buying up Citation II power amps and stripping them of their output transformers because these were some of the best wide-band transformers ever made. I never knew if this was really true and if it was, which MFA amps used the Citation II transformers. Could this be it?

Yes, MFA did use the Citation transformers.

The amp in the picture is an M120 mono built around 1984. That one has Pearl Tube Coolers on the output tubes.

It used the same octal base front end tubes as their Luminescence preamp.

They also bought Peerless transformers which were used in the M150 Luminescence
monos(I owned a pair), which were fan cooled.

If you ever spot any of these items in working conditon at at good price, they can be restored by Scott Frankland.
