I currently listen primarily to vinyl but have about 200-300 CDs that I would like to breath some new life into. My current system is listed on my profile page. As the title suggests I'm thinking of replacing my Oppo DV-980H. My options are a Marantz 30n 1/2 off current retail, a Denon 1700ne, or a Musical Fidelity A5.5 that has had a NOS Philips vam 1202 mechanism installed for the price of $750. I don't stream music and probably wouldn't have much need for a separate DAC. So the major question is would it be worth buying the A5.5 or for reliability and the obsolescence of parts would it be a waste of money in 2025. Thanks for any feedback you can give.
