Nice review. I really believe in this new class of audio devices that fit the new way we enjoy content on our networks and computers.

The only thing that is a bummer is the adaptive USB rather than async.

Hey Amir:

There is no doubt in my mind this is the source component type of the future. Linn, Naim, Pro-Ject, T&A, Bryston, ARC, and many others are leading the charge.

As far as the "adaptive" USB input, it is rather moot. I specifically note in the review that the CLiC and others like it give you freedom from computers except to rip and download.

I just don't see the point of plugging a computer into what is essentially a computer. You can plug a hard drive directly into to it, or stream from any networked computer, or from a NAS.

This product category is NOT for the MAC/Amarra/Pure Music/USB DAC crowd who fret over power cords for their Mac Mni, isolation bases, USB cables, hard drive brands, and every other conceivable variable.

It really is plug n play!

Nice review. I really believe in this new class of audio devices that fit the new way we enjoy content on our networks and computers.

Thanks!

It is a neat product and does exactly what they say it does. Of course if you have no need for the preamp section, you can get a similar product for less, like the Pro-Ject Stream Box, the new NAD and Denon streamers/file players, or even a Squeezebox Touch.

Very informative and at the right time for me since I am considering such for a studio/den... :)

Thanks for sharing it Marc!
