Hello everyone. I've never listened to headphones so i bought some Edifier Stax Spirit S3 recently. Are the S5 any better? Focal maybe? I wasn't impressed and they have a plastic creak noise, so i returned them. I have no place, just renting a single room, for a sound system and that's why I'm looking for headphones. Since i don't have any experience, I have no baseline to start from. I need wireless because for the first time my phone has no headphone jack and I'll be using these in the office, bedroom and on airplanes. I'm looking for something that has good low end extension without a bump around 1500kz, because my ears are sensitive to that frequency area. I can't hear much beyond 17khz, so headphones that extend to 30k are pointless. I did try some beats and they sounded muddy, while the stax sounded plain and boring. I let the Stax play at medium volume for 24 hours before listening, just to break them in. I'm not sure what I'm wanting, so i could use some guidance. I'm not going to use an external amp. Any suggestions on where to start? My budget was around $350, because i thought that should be enough to get me something decent sounding. I need over ear because i can't have even a stocking hat putting pressure on my ears and in ear ones I've tried from coworkers never fit my ear holes. I wear glasses if that matters.
