Hello, new to forum :)

Wanted to test Roon on my Synology NAS where is it right now and I’m pretty fine with it. As I want to stay with Roon new idea come to me to build Roon server/streamer. I’ve start researching for a part and few picks below:

- HDPLEX H5 (can be changed but I prefer big one to keep all in one case)
- Jcat xe evo + optional clock (maybe installed in future)
- full fanless

Key for me it’s to keep all PSU also inside case no extra PSU outside. One cable to PC and that’s is. Probably I will ask someone to do PSU part as I have no clue about it. Preferable Roon Rock as OS.

Opinions about Jcat net card FEMTO?
Opinions about Jcat usb enhancer?

As parts can be upgraded in future I would like to focus on motherboard + case as first options. Later I can add Jcat usb or clock into it etc. so I’m kindly ask you for help to choose first things like case + motherboard

Any propositions? Suggestion? @Marcin_gps ? ;)

To see some case options, check out the Pachanko Labs line of servers. I believe that they use several different styles of Streacom cases.
I'm not sure that I'd agree with your plan to have an internal power supply. You'll need a much larger case and have to deal with shielding.
I run Roon on a Pachanko Mini SE, which operates with a customized, low-latency version of Windows. There's one internal SSD for the operating system and other software and another for internal music storage. It is a far better solution (much better sound, greater reliability, improved convenience) than either the NUC or the NAD M50.2 that I previously used.
