Rainer‘s roof studio: working on high end tape sound and listening room

Hi Folks,

my roof studio is used twice: on days I do master tapes or master tape copies for all around the (western) world.
Every evening I listen to my old and new records for hours and make myself happy!

The setup is:

PR99s, were my least favourite of the three. They were OK, but always felt a bit of a compromise. The A807s were very good. Over the space of a month I tested a large number of brand new A807s and they were very consistent. The M15As were amazing and extremely strong. One survived a nasty accident and was still working afterwards.
 
I have my PR99 (Mk II) in a flightcase to carry it anywhere and make live (or project) recordings with it.
After "cutting" (= cueing) with the M15A I receive an excellent master tape, rated with an "A" by German reviewers for every copy.
