Hi guys I'm new here, this is my first thread I hope you guys can help me, thanks; I'm interested in upgrade my cheap audio system to something better, right now I'm using my Harman Kardon HK 3490 https://www.harmanaudio.com/HK+3490.html (receiver) but I want to upgrade to a S.M.S.L. A6 ICEPower Integrated Amplifier: http://www.smsl-audio.com/productshow.asp?id=94, but I don't know which is better, the HK 3490 or the A6; I'm interested in stereo audio without subwoofer, just pure stereo sound, this are the specs (data sheet, tech. data)of both, Integrated Amp inside the A6 and the amp section in the HK3490:

HK 3490:

A6 ICEPower:

If you know a better Integrated Amp with PHONO, SPDIF(TOSLINK), COAX, DSD(via USB) in $450 or $500 please let me know, thanks

See the back of your HK. There's pre outs for each channel so you can use the pre and upgrade the channels with affordable class d amps from 1 of many companies allowing the flexibility of a receiver. I have an HK older 5 channel unit cost me $1000 at circuit city 18 years ago that I use to control my even older B&K 4420 power amp to drive my power hungry mains. The main advantage is less load on the single shared transformer inside the receiver, runs cooler lasts longer.
